Trekking to Tilicho base camp is one of the thrilling trekking experience of Nepal. It is situated in the Annapurna range of Nepal. Tilicho Lake is the highest lake in the world which is situated at an altitude of 4913 meters from the sea level. It is also preferred to trek by the people trekking Annapurna base camp. Tilicho base camp is created by snowmelt from the mountains and glacier. The trail to Tilicho base camp is the same as the Annapurna base camp.

The trail goes through the beautiful Gurung village. Tillich base camp is situated in the military area, that is why trekking in Tilicho base camp is also considered as an off-limit trek. There is some military place where the restriction is applied for trekkers. Tilicho Lake also has religious importance as it is also mentioned in the holy book of Hindu “the Ramayana”. The water of Tilicho Lake is also considered as the holy water. Tilicho base camp is also a beautiful combination of cultural and natural diversity. This trek is full of natural beauty, green landscape and the alpine forest adds magnificence to the trek.

The trek goes through the varied ethnic group including Sherpa and Gurung people following the Tibetan culture. The houses are also carved in Buddhist style and with their script written in the walls. You will also be going through the lovely Manang village where you will be welcomed with great hostility. The following are the brief itinerary of the trekking to Tilicho.

Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu
For this trek, you will have to first arrive in Kathmandu valley. Our team form above the Himalaya will pick you up and then you will be taken in your hotel. You might be exhausted from the trip so you either rest or roam around the street of Kathmandu valley.

Day 2: Sightseeing around Kathmandu valley
You may like to visit some of the places in Kathmandu valley. We suggest you visit the holy temple of Kathmandu like Pashupatinath and Sywanbhunath which are also been listed but UNSECO in the world heritage site.

Your whole day will be spending on visiting some famous places in Kathmandu.

At night you will be having typical Nepali food in Nepali style in the traditional way. After having dinner you will have the meeting regarding our trip to Tilicho base camp. you will be given information regarding the necessary stuff that you need to carry.

Day 3 : Drive to Beshishar

Your real trek starts from the third day, trek to Beshishar form Kathmandu. Beshishar is situated at an altitude of 830 meters from sea level. You can find the bus to reach Beshishar from Kathmandu. We will be going through the Kathmandu- Pokhara highways. You can enjoy the amazing view of the Kathmandu and Pokhara valley. We have a small glance at the well-known mountain peaks like Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. You will be staying overnight at the lodge.

Day 4:Trek to Bahundanda

Your fourth day will start from early morning breakfast at the hotel of Beshishar with a magnificent view of the green landscape and mountains. After that, you will be heading toward your destination Bahundanda which is located at the altitude of 1300 meters. The trail will take you through the bank of Marshyandgi River. From Marshyandgi it will take 2 hours to walk to reach Bahundanda. The route is quite steep. 

Day 5: Trek to Chame
From Bahundanda your next destination is to reach Chame with is located at the altitude of 1,405 meters. You can enjoy the enormous view of the stunning snowcapped mountains. Chame is a small village. The waterfall on the trail makes your ear relaxed with the pleasant sound. After crossing the Marshyandgi you will reach to Jagat, from Jagat it takes about an hour to reach Chame. You can stay overnight at the hotels of Chame.

Day 6 : Trek to Bagarchap
The next day of the trek will take you to the Bagarchap at the altitude of 2160 meters. The route from Chamje to Bagarchap is rocky and steep, it will be a bit difficult to trek through the rocky trail. You will have to trek uphills though Tal (1675 m). It will take about 5 hours to reach Bagarchap. The houses of Bargarchap are small one-storied stoned roofed.

 Day 6 :Trek to Chame

You will be starting your trek from the early morning. Chame is situated at an altitude of 2630 meters from the sea level. The trail will take you through the oak and pine forest at Danaque (2210m). After the forest, there is a small wooden bridge that takes you to the ascending way of the timing. You will reach the bottom of LamjungHimal. Continue the walk you will finally reach to Chame where you will stay overnight.

 Day 7 :Trek to Pisang

Your morning started from the amazing view of the sunrise from LamjungHimal. The trail continues through the pine and oak forest. Climbing through the stony and rocky roads. The trail becomes steeper as you move forward. The striking view the rock face of Paungda Danda which is rising above 1500m above the river, the rock is surely worth watching. From here you can watch the view of high mountains like Annapurna II as well as Pisang Peak (6091m). After moving a few meters forward you will reach Pisang where you will be staying overnight.

 

Day 8 :Trek to Manang

Today is the most exciting day of your trek to Tilicho base camp as you will be going to one of the most popular villages in Nepal. Manang village lies at the elevation of 3540 meters. You will be climbing uphill from Pisang. The climate of Manang is cold so as much you get closer to Manang colder the climate gets.

You can also get the view of the Tilicho peak (7145m) from Manang valley. Manang valley is fill with natural beauties like green landscapes, silvery mountains, Shortens, and Monasteries. Barge Monastery is the largest monastery in the Manang district which holds many religious beliefs. Manang district is full of unique cultures and lifestyles of local people. You can stay overnight at our Lodge.

Day 9 : Trek to Khangsar Village
After an enjoyable day at Manang district, our next destination will be a trek to Kangsar village with is located at the altitude of 3700 meters from the sea level. The trail to Kangsar will take you through the Kangsar River. After crossing the river you will reach Kangsar village. You can observe the local Tibetan living style in this village. Kangsar village is the oldest village in Nepal. You can stay overnight in this village.

Day 10 : Trekking to Tilicho base camp

Finally, the day of trekking to Tilicho base camp has come. The path to Tilicho base camp goes through the many Gambas. The road to Tilicho base camp is constructing now in the down part of the trail. One of the ways upholds the altitude, crossing the narrow slopes toward the station and the other way continues to ascend towards the line of the ridge.

The most used path by the trekkers is the old path which is much more difficult as it goes on the rise line of the ridge, the final way is the new path that goes a completely hard route. The trail Continues along the new path which takes you to the high submit and inclined on bends the scree slope from the side of the main village. At the bottom of the Tilicho base camp, it is a bit suffered. There is a building on the opposite side of the Tilicho base camp which of altitude of 4200 meters. You can stay overnight at this building.

Day 11 :Trek to Tilicho Lake

Today you will be trekking to the world’s highest lake Tilicho lake. It will take about 5 – 6 hours walk to reach Tilicho Lake from the Tilicho base camp. So you will have to start your journey at early morning. The weather of Tilicho Lake is the very cold cause of the highest altitude. You may also have problems breathing because of high elevation. After enjoying the beautiful movements Tilicho Lake then you will have to trek back to Tilicho base camp where you can stay overnight.

Day 12 : Trek to yarkKharka
It is time to hike downward, so from Tilicho base camp, you will slowly move down to yarkKharka. Yak Kharka is located at an altitude of 4000 meters. The trail continues slowly through the Marshyandgi River. Enjoying the wide vegetation you will reach to yarkKharka.
Day 13: Trek to Thorong Pedi
From yarkKharka you will trek down to Thorong Pedi. It is at an altitude of 4450 meters from the sea level. You will cross the wooden river at the Marshyandgi River. After following the narrow trail through the steep and rocky route you will reach to Thorong Pedi.

Day 14: Trek to Muktinath
You will have to walk about 8 hours form Thorong Pedi to reach Muktinath. Trekking to Muktinath is one of the best days of this trek. From an early morning walk from Thorong Pedi. You will go through the Thorong La Pass at the altitude of 5400 meters. After walking the steep path you will finally reach Muktinath.

Day 15: Trek to Jomsom

After spending a religious time at Muktinath you will be heading toward Jomsom at the altitude of 2720 meters. Path to Jomsom is full of meadows, rivers, and streams which includes Kali Janaki River. You can get pleasing and scenic views of Tilicho Mountain and beautiful wet hills. There are lots of Buddhists stupas throughout the trail.

Day 16: Fly to Pokhara
You can take a flight from Jomsom to Pokhara. The time of flight is about 25 minutes. You will have to wake up early as the flight is mainly available in the morning time. The weather condition also does not change during the morning. You can also enjoy the superb view of the high snowcapped mountains from the flight. You will stay overnight at hotels in Pokhara

Day 17: Fly to Kathmandu and final departure

The flight from Pokhara to Kathmandu is easily available. It takes a maximum of forty-five minutes to reach Kathmandu from Pokhara in flight. You can also take a bus or private taxi to Kathmandu. After having lunch at Kathmandu we will take you to the airport. Its been a great honor after your Trekking to Tilicho base camp. We wish you a safe journey at home. Trekking from Jiri to Lukla

There are two optional routes to go to Everest Base Camp trek they are one starts from Lukla which is the route most of the trekker’s trek and the other is from Jiri. The fact that Everest Base Camp trek from Jiri is less traveled as compared to the trekking trail from Lukla. Jiri to Everest Base Camp trek attracts the original route into the Solu-Khumbu region which was used by the early discovers of Everest. Brief Itinerary of   Jiri to Everest base camp trek.

Day 01: Arrive at Kathmandu, Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA)

You will be picked up from the TIA by our office representative. And then transferring you to the hotel would be another task. therefore This day you will have full resting and meeting and greeting day. Short orientation of the trek would be provided for you on this day.

Day 02: Sightseeing around Kathmandu valley.
I am sure that you would always want to explore the buzzing city of Nepal, Kathmandu. The second day of your journey starts with exploring the famous historical and religious places inside Kathmandu Valley. You can go on a sightseeing tour and visit Pashupatinath, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Boudhanath, Swayambunath, Nagarkot, Bhaktapur Durbar Square, etc.

Doing this would be prepared for the 3-week long trek and refreshment activities. Late evening you will also have a short meeting with our guide about the trekking destination.

Day 03: Kathmandu from Jiri drive

the start day of Jiri to Everest base camp trek. The real journey starts from this day. You would have a scenic and enjoyable 8-9 hrs drive from Kathmandu to Jiri. You will enjoy the countryside view throughout the ride, and following the Sunkoshi River would drive away your boredom. Jiri, a small town in Dolakha, and marked as the Switzerland of Nepal is what heaven looks like.

Day 04: Trek to Sete village and Junbesi. (4-5 hours/ 6-7 hours)
This day your trekking journey would descend to LikhuKhola. You will be traveling to Sete village (Sherpa village) crossing the bridges and passing through several terrace farming. Afterward, you will be passing to Lamjura pass and reach to Junbesi (that lies between Jiri and Namche Bazar).

Day 05: Trek to Nunthala.

Trekking Duration: 5-6 hours
Day 5th trekking destination would be trekking to Nunthala from Junbesi. At this place, a short glimpse of Mount Everest starts showing up. From Junbesi, the trekking starts following through the small market in Salleri and descend to RingmoKhola.

Day 06: Trek to Khari Khola Village.

Trekking Duration – 5-6 hours
From Nunthala, an arduous 6 hours would take you to Khari Khola Village. Along the way, you will  also get a chance to explore Karyolung (6511m), Kusum Kanguru (6367m), Gyachung Kang (7952m), Khumbila (5761m), and several other peaks,

Day 07: Trek to Surke.

Trekking Duration– 5-6 hours
Day 7 of your trek would take you over the suspension bridge and ascend through the steep trail. Although,  This day you would be trekking with ease, walking through the dense forest filled with pine and oak trees.

Day 08: Trek to Phakding and trek to Namche Bazaar.

Trekking Duration- 4/5 hours and 5/6 hours
From Surke, follow the trails of the DudhKoshiriver and trek towards Phakding. Then from Phakding, your trail en route to Namche Bazaar, which is also known as the Gateway of Everest.
You will also encounter lots of Sherpa town that is filled with restaurants, lodges, hotels and bakery shops. You can buy any trekking gear here.

Day 9: Acclimatization day at Namche Bazaar

You will have a day of trekking today and have an acclimatization day at Namche Bazaar on our Jiri to Everest base camp trek.  You can either take rest or go for a short day hike to Khunde and Khumjung Sherpa’s village. Explore the Sherpa village and return to Namche Bazaar for overnight.

Day 10: Trek to Tengboche Monastery.
Altitude: Tengboche (3,855m/12,850ft)
Duration: 5-6 hours
The major tasks of this day would be exploring Tengboche Monastery. It is also the largest monastery in the Khumbu region

Day 11: Trek to Dingboche village.

Altitude: Dingboche (4,360m/14,290 ft)
Duration: 5-6 hours
You will observe the stunning views of Mt. Ama. Dablam, Mt. Khnumbila, and also Mt. Thamserku. These mountains are regarded as sacred mountains of the patron god of the Khumbu region. You would encounter a drastically changing landscape.

Day 12: Trek to Lobuche. 5-6 hours.

Altitude: Lobuche (4,930m/16,175 ft)

Day 13: Trek to Everest Base Camp and then descend back to Gorakshep

Altitude: Everest Base Camp (5,364m/17,598ft), Gorakshep (5,185m/ 17,010 ft)
This day is the special day of trekking. therefore the major highlights of this day trekking are exploring Khumbu glacier and enjoying sparkling peeks, Khumbu Icefall, Pumori and Lhotse.

Day 14: Climb up to Kala Patthar and trek down to Pangboche

Trekking duration: 6-7 hrs
Start early morning trekking to Kala Patthar and enjoy the jaw-dropping vistas of magical mountains and sparkling sunrise against the mountain. You can also see Mount Everest (8848m), Pumori (7161m), Lingtren (6749m), Nuptse (7861m) as well as Khumbutse (6665m). and many other peaks.
Descend from Pangboche to Lobuche and Pheriche and overnight there.

Day 15: Trek back to Namche Bazaar.
Duration: 6-7 hours.
Descend the trail and Explore the Namche Bazaar.
Overnight at lodge in Namche.
Day 16: Trek down to Lukla.
Duration: 7-8 hours
Descending the trail continues via many Sherpa villages and monasteries until you reach Lukla.

Tengboche Monastery trek

Day 17: Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu.

Duration: 35-40 minutes.
Enjoy the short 35-40 minutes scenic early morning flight from Lukla to Kathmandu. afterward stroll around the famous places of Kathmandu to buy gifts. Then you will be transferred back to the hotel. Enjoy your farewell dinner.

Day 18: Final Departure for your onward destination.
Our office representative will drop-off to the TIA for your final departure to your home town.
