Annapurna Royal Trek is the easiest, short and inspirational trek in Annapurna Region. It is the famous short trekking trail offering a good mountain views, ridge walking, forests, rice field and different village types. This trek does not require any particular long walking days.

Generally, Annapurna Royal Trek starts from Pokhara. It takes you along the peaceful ranges with terraced hills all around. You will see colorful flora and fauna painting the landscape, eagles soaring high above and the excellent mountain views including Machhapuchhare and Annapurna. The route here is less crowded, so you can get more close to a true picture of uniqueness nature, traditional lifestyles, and ancient religious practices. This short trek commences from Pokhara, the valley of lakes offering panoramic views of the Annapurna Himalayas massif and also the Manaslu Himal. Walking through many remote villages, terraced fields forested ridge tops, lakes and temples, alpine pastures and rhododendron forests and spectacular close-up view of Machhapuchhare and Annapurna range make the trek best for you.

Detailed Itinerary of Annapurna Royal Trek

The trail starts near the army camp on the Prithvi highway, just east of the Vijaypur Khola. Cross the flat area of rice fields and the river before reaching the ridge of Kalikasthan (1370m). If you are doing this trek in the summer the river may be difficult to cross if it is flooded. Arrive Kalikasthan, which has basically campsites on grassy land with fine views.

On the next day, after breakfast, the trail follows the forested ridge. We walk through the villages, the ridge of the mountain with the good view of Annapurna and Lamjung. We spend our night in Syanglung.

The trail descends to the valley floor rhododendron and sal forest. Halfway through the walk, there is a 400m descent and 600m ascent to arrive at Chisapani. This is the best point to see the Himalayan Panorama. You will see Dhaulagiri to the west of Annapurna. The campsite is a short walk beyond the village near the ridge top temple, and the views are sublime.

The day involves a leisurely stroll along the ridge that separates Rupa Tal. We climb about 200m to arrive at Sundar danda and walk 15 min down to Begnas Tal for an exciting an hour boating. Emerging on the valley floor at Begnas Bazaar, from here drive back to Pokhara, transfer to hotel.
