Best Travel Time: February to Mid June, September – November are the best seasons. Dec & January are Winter; We can go for the trek can be snow on the trail, July & August are rainy time and not highly recommended.

Trip Snippets: 10 days, 9 nights Lodges, 3 meals a day ( breakfast, lunch, and dinner) during the trek are included.

Departure Dates: We can offer this trek on any dates during the months Feb, March, April, May, June, Sept, Oct, November and December for a group of 2 to 16 people.

Equipment rental: We advise you to bring all of your clothing and gear from home, however in Kathmandu there are many shops to buy and rent trek related equipment.

Your trek Backpack/duffle bag: Our porters will carry your baggage on the trek, the maximum weight per trekkers is 15 kg including your sleeping bag, and down jacket, Other items not required on the trek you can store in our office or your hotel in Kathmandu or Pokhara.

Detailed Itinerary of Annapurna Sanctuary Trek

Enjoying the breakfast every morning, your journey for Annapurna Ghorepani Poon Hill trek begins. A car drive for about one and a half hours through a large village Lumle brings you to Nayapul. The trek starts from here, dropping at first on a staircase and then traversing high above the river on a full stone-paved trail to a large and prosperous town Birethanti (1000m). We are following the small bamboo forest and waterfalls. The first small village we will arrive in is Sudami, where you can have your lunch. After lunch, We need to start climbing to the uphills up to  the side of the valley to reach Hille (1510m) and after a short walking, you will arrive at Tikhedunga. We spend overnight at the guest house.

The trail crosses the Tikhedunga River on a suspension bridge, then drops and crosses the Bhurungdi Khola on a large deck at 1520m. Today we are climbing the most beautiful stone staircase which are nearly 3300 steps.  This beautiful store staircase trails will  continues till the large Magar village of Ulleri (2080m). After a short break at Ulleri we will climb through pastures and cultivated fields. We will mostly follow the small stream with fresh oak and Rhododendron forest. We will pass the two small streams in thick rhododendron forest to Nangathanti (2460m). We can take lunch here or if you already have lunch at Banthanti, you stop here just for tea and for some rest. If you are traveling in winter you can see the snow from here. We have another 1-hour climbing left to reach at Ghorepani (2750m).

Most people rise before dawn the following day to make the early-morning excursion to Poon Hill (3210m), one of the best Himalaya viewpoints in Nepal, provides an unobstructed view of sunrise over the high Himalayas. We enjoy the magnificent view today which are from Dhaulagiri I (8167m) and Tukuche (6920m) to Nilgiri (6940m), Annapurna South. Also we see the Annapurna I (8091m), Hiuchhuli (6441m), and Tarke Kang (7193m). Gangapurna (7454m), Lamjung Himal (6986m), and the Mt. Fishtail (Machhapuchhre 6997m). We can watch the beautiful sunrise view over the Himalayas and make the best picture here.
Down to Ghorepani for a breakfast, and continue trekking to Tadapani.  In the first part, we are climbing up again till Deurali. you can see another great panoramic view over Dhaulagiri and Annapurna. We need to descent from here in the forest of Rhododendrons and pine.  You can also enjoy the abundant birdlife to Tadapani. Enjoy the best sunset view after your sunrise today morning. Overnight at a local tea house.

Today we will trek to Chhomrong, the trekking trail follows with almighty rhododendron forests and beautiful terraces went passing through our trail to the Chhomrong village.  We will follow the Jungle part and arrive more open valley. after the kimrong Khola we need to flat up to Chhomong village. The views of the peak of Annapurna South with the Mt. Fishtails are very close up from here. You can have good lodges here providing excellent facilities. This is the entrance point for our Sanctuary trek and, It is inhabited by Gurung people, one of the major ethnic groups of Nepal.

Today we will descend ina nice stone staircase trail to the Chhomrong khola you can see the small farmland of millet. After we cross the small  Suspension bridge. We need to climb the other parts of the valley. We will mostly be passing through deep forests of bamboo, rhododendron, and oak.  We have another portion of the day’s trek follows of climbing up hills tillKuldi (2470m).  Start our descending to a long steep, slippery stone staircase into deep bamboo and rhododendron forest to the village of Dovan.

Today our trek enters the small narrow Modi Khola valley brings all the way to the base of M.B.C. This mountain is prohibited for climbing purposes. Enjoy the best panorama of the Mountains including  The Hiuchhuli, Annapurna ranges, and the ever-changing Machhapuchhare. This area is called the Annapurna sanctuary since the mountains are surrounding it. You also get the view of the snow-capped peaks nearby you. They are  Annapurna I, Annapurna III, and the fishtail spire of Machhapuchhare.

Today after breakfast we will climb to the Annapurna base camp. We will do some part of the flat and start climbing up hills.  As you reach Annapurna South Base Camp, you will have impressive picturesque landscapes, a majestic panoramic view of snow-capped mountainous peaks, and varied Himalayan cultural settings tucked beneath the southern slopes of the Annapurna massive. Finally, the last point of the trek makes your heart a bit fast Range. Enjoy the chilly morning with the best photograph, have breakfast in the base of the mountain. We will give you a whole day to chill out around to explore Annapurna base camp.

Heading back down the valley is much more comfortable. We will have some fantastic glimpse of sunrise over Mt. Annapurna and surrounding ranges. You can see the best sunrise over Mount Annapurna from here. Enjoy your breakfast at the base of the Mountain. Now is the time to return from our last stop. today we are reaching Bamboo passing through the Himalayan Hotel and Dovan. We are ascending all the way with the small bamboo forest and when we are more down with varieties of rhododendron and oak trees. Keep an eye out for troops of black-faced ‘Langur’ monkeys. We will spend our beautiful night in the local guest house.

After breakfast is ready for another exciting trek today.  Now we are going to steeply up to the Kuldi Ghar. From here we walk quite a flat route until you reach to Sinuwa. We will walk down to the  Chhomrong Khola and pass the small suspension bridge. Start climbing the same stone staircase until we arrive at Chhomrong. Today we walk through rhododendron and bamboo forest with majestic mountain scenery, especially Mt. Machhapuchhare. Have a rest at Chhomrung with a cup of tea and enjoy the downhill view. We have another easy step down to Jhinu Danda about in 1 hour. this place has a small natural pool of hot spring, you can go to enjoy them.

Today we are coming to the end of our Annapurna sanctuary trekking. We are going to Nayapul to catch the vehicle for Pokhara.  on our way to Nayapul, the trip leads on the downhill with stone steps through farm terraces passing another Nayapul (New Bridge) small settlement by the River Modi, walk leads further downhill to Syauli-Bazaar. We will walk on the Modi River valley mostly flat trail till  Birethanti and our trek end at Nayapul, drive back to Pokhara transfer to the hotel.
