Climate and Temperature of Annapurna Trail

Annapurna trek is one of the longest treks of Nepal with a variety of cultures and climatic diversity. It takes 10-12days to complete the trek. Brief itinerary
Annapurna trail trek is one of the most popular trekking routes in Nepal. The trek allows you to enjoy the magnificent views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges from many vantage points on the way. The trek makes a circuit around the Annapurna trail.

Day 1
Arrive in Kathmandu

Your trek will start from Kathmandu so. You will be staying at the hotel. You may like to visit some of the places in Kathmandu. We suggest you visit holy temple Pashupatinath and Syambhunath, which are also listed but UNSECO in the world heritage site. You will be spending your whole day visiting some famous places in Kathmandu. At night you will have typical Nepali food in Nepali style in a traditional way. After having dinner you will have the meeting regarding our trip to Annapurna trail. You will be told the necessary stuff that you need to have during your trip.

Day 2
Travel to Pokhara from Kathmandu

You will get a tourist bus to travel to Pokhara from Kathmandu. It will take approx. 6 hours to reach Pokhara from Pokhara to Kathmandu. You will be enjoying the magnificent view of the beauty of the green hills. You will be going through one of the Nepal most excellent highway Prithvi highways following stunning Marshyangdiriver. You will also pass through the small villages and paddy fields. Since traveling to Pokhara is a short travel, you will have spare time left. You can roam around Pokhara at that time; Fewa Lake is a place to be visited in Pokhara so you can visit Fewa Lake. You will be staying overnight at the hotel in Pokhara.

Day 3
Trek to Tikheldungha from Pokhara

Your third day of the trek starts from early morning breakfast you will be heading towards Tikheldungha firstly, you can find the local or private bus to Nayapul. After an hour’s drive on the bus, you will reach Nayapul enjoying the big mountains, landscape, and dense forests. Then about at least a 3-hour trek from Nayapul, you will reach to Tikheldungha and through Britain. The route is quite easy for trekking. It is so beautiful; you will see the outstanding view of the scattered houses. You can stay in the village of Tikheldungha.

Day 4

Trek to Ghorepani
Ghorepani is located at an altitude of 1750 m from sea level. We will be going through passing Ulleri and Banthanti with the steep trail. Your today trek will start from toddling the stone staircase on the way to Ghorepani. The view of snow Peak Mountain on the way to Ghorepani is brilliant. The mountains seem to be so closed like they are just next to us. The most fantastic thing on the way to Ghorepani was the forest full of gorgeous rhodondhoren.

Taking some breaks on the tea house on the way. Finally, you will reach to Ghorepani. Ghorepani was a small village with very kind and welcoming people. Mostly people of the Magar community lived theirs following the Tibetan culture and tradition. The house of the town is made with handmade carved, and there are Tibetan flags with their in the script all over the town. You can travel to the whole community and observe their culture and tradition. There are many lodges in Ghorepani, so you can stay at any lodges at night.

Day 5
Hike to poon hill

Day five is the day of hiking to poon hill situated at the altitude of 3200m from sea level. Poon hill is one of the most beautiful hikes in the Annapurna trail trek. Poon hill is mainly famous for the sunrise, so you might want to get up early to watch the sunrise. The route to poon hill is quite steep. You will be thrilled by the Panoramic view of sunrise over the white snow Peak Mountains. You will also see some of the tallest mountains like Mt. Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Fishtail, which is also called Macchapuchre. After enjoying the striking sunrise, you will be heading toward your next destination, which was Gandhruk through Tatopani.

Day 6
Trekking up to Gandhruk

Gandhruk is an exciting place to visit. Ghandruk is a village in which mostly Gurung people live. It is also very famous for culture and ethnicity. Is it one of the oldest communities of Nepal even though it is a tourist area but, ancient culture and tradition are well preserved. The trail goes through the rhododendron and pine forest. You can have a clear and beautiful view of many high mountains like Annapurna in the south, fishtail, Dhaulagiri, and HimalChuli.

Day 7
Ghandruk to Deurali

You will have an early morning on Ghandruk. After having breakfast, move forward o the Annapurna trail. You will be heading toward Deurali via single, Dovan, and Himalayas. Deurali is located at the altitude of 3200m above the sea level. There are few lodges and hotels in Deurali where you will stay. It takes approximately 2 hours to reach Deurali from Ghandruk.

Day 8
Deurali to Annapurna trail trek

The most exciting day of your whole trip to Annapurna trail trek. After early morning breakfast, you will be heading toward Annapurna base camp. Annapurna base camp is located at the altitude of 4130 m. After walking for straight 5 hours, we finally reach the Annapurna base camp. It is so marvelous up there. Mountains on all of your side will surround you. The Annapurna trail looks mind-blowing. You will be allowed to see the high snow Peak Mountains like Mount Homunculi (6441m.), Annapurna South (7229m.), Annapurna I (8091m.), Annapurna III (7555m.), Gangapurna (7454m.) and Machhapuchhre or Fish Tail (6997m.) you will feel like you are in heaven. You will be so pleased by the silence of the surrounding there.

Day 9
Trek to bamboo

After seeing Annapurna trail. It’s time to return, so the next morning, we return to bamboo after 6 hours walk from Annapurna base camp. You will also see the miraculous sunrise from Annapurna base camp.

Day 10
Trek to hot spring

The descending way from bamboo is down to jhinu danda. The route to jhinu danda is full of rhododendron, oak, and bamboo forest. Ascending the stone staircase is pretty difficult but descending the stone staircase is quite easy. After reaching hot spring, you may bath and relax all your stress and tiredness of the whole trek here.

Day 11
Trek to Nayapul and drive to Pokhara
We will be heading toward Pokhara via Nayapul. First, we will hike to Nayapul, Nayapul is a lovely place to hike bakes the trail as well. You will feel the same excitement as you will hike back. After reaching Nayapul you can catch the bus to Pokhara. It takes one hour to reach from Pokhara.

Day 12

Drive or fly back to Kathmandu
After reaching Kathmandu, you can find ground transportation or a flight to Kathmandu. It takes 1or 2 hours on a flight. And at least 6 hours if you take a bus.

To reiterate, Annapurna Trail is well suited for all the solo traveler as well as a Group traveler. Moreover, you will get Chance to explore Gerung’s local culture and lifestyle.

Talking about the best time to travel Annapurna range, I suggest spring (March to May) and autumn (Sept to Oct) are the best seasons. This is due to the moderate weather condition of these seasons.
