Trek in Monsoon Season

Clothing tips


Trekking in Annapurna is very cold. You will need to pack your warm clothes.

Panchase hill trek

Panchase hill treks begin at the south-west side from the beautiful city Pokhara to experience its natural beauty and panoramic views. Siklis trek

The Annapurna Siklis trek easy trek and nearby route from Pokhara valley to enjoy the traditional culture of Nepal. This beautiful short and easy Annapurna trekking is a great introduction to the beauty of the Annapurna region. We will enjoy the beautiful chirping sound of the birds all along the trekking route. The trek provides s with awesome views of the different Annapurna Himalayan Range along with Dhaulagiri and Mt. Manaslu. Siklis is one of the largest Gurung villages in Nepal and offers an opportunity to learn the unique traditional culture and a truly captivating village experience where we get to see the real rural Nepal. We will start this Annapurna trekking after driving to  Bijayapur Khola from Pokhara. From this point, we will ascent to uphills through the Rice Fields and low land views.

We will walk through villages of the Gurungs, a people of Tibetan origins, who also practiced an interesting shamanistic.  while climbing more up we will pass the ridges of open pasture, we enjoy uninterrupted views of Annapurna II (7939m) and Annapurna IV (7525m). Royal Trek

The Royal Trek is the easiest, short, and inspirational route of Annapurna trekking. It is one of the famous short trekking trails offering good mountain views, ridge walking, forests, rice fields & different village types. It is one of the excellent treks to do as it doesn’t require any particularly long walking days and offers to see plenty of Nepalese villages and mountains, generally, this trek starts from Pokhara with the offering of stunning mountain views. When Charles Prince of Britain walk in this route in  1980 with the entourage of 90 guests with the followers and staff that’s why this Trek gained its name as “Royal Trek”.

Annapurna Royal trek takes you along the peaceful ranges with terraced hills all around the Annapurna trekking route. You will see colorful flora and fauna painting the landscape, eagles soaring high above, and good mountain views including Machhapuchhare and Annapurna. The route here is less crowded, so you can get more close to a true picture of unique nature, traditional lifestyles, and ancient religious practices. This short trek commences from Pokhara, the valley of lakes offering panoramic views of the Annapurna Himalayas massif and also the Manaslu Himal.

Jomsom Trekking

The Jomsom is the gateway of Nepal’s hidden treasure” Mustang” of Annapurna trekking. The trail passes the landscapes mustang before reaching the Hindu’s and Buddhist’s sacred pilgrimage Muktinath. Jomsom Trekking offers fantastic Himalayan views, beautiful landscapes trail, Kali Gandaki valley’s famous apple garden in Marpha and Tukuche village Jomsom Trek offers spectacular views of mountains above 8000m such as Mt. Dhaulagiri [8167m], Mt. Annapurna I [8091m], Dhaulagiri, and many more.  The Trekking area situated on the dry, desert-like Tibetan Plateau with a treeless barren landscape allows access to the high mountains of the Himalayas within a reasonable timeframe and without ascending to an adventurous attitude.

Jomsom Trekking is moderate trekking which can be done from Pokhara by flight to Jomsom or now you can also drive till Muktinath. . Jomsom trek includes a trek of the narrow Kali Gandaki valley, the deepest gorge in the world, and brings you the base of Nilgiri and into the Mustang area. This route of Annapurna Trekking explores the sacred temple Muktinath which has 108 waterfalls day around the ancient Muktinath temple in a pagoda-shaped temple of lord Bishnu, a center for pilgrimage. The marvelous mountain views are breathtaking although clouds roll in the early morning provide a wonderful environment in this trek. One can also enjoy the diverse culture of various communities and their traditional lifestyles during the Jomsom journey which provides genuinely a once in a lifetime experience for the trekkers and visitors.

Side trips fo Annapurna region trekking

 Milarepa Cave 4000m height:

During the Annapurna trekking, we can explore many other interesting landscapes and ritual sites. This cave is located at the foothill of Annapurna III on the north faced side of the mountain. This cave name Milarepa belongs to the Buddhist saint Milarepa. It is believed that Milarepa had meditated under this cave. This cave can be reached after walking 3hrs from Manang. During the hike to the cave, we can see the beautiful scenery of the Marsyangdi valley, Chulus & Pisang peak as well.

It is a very worthwhile side trip from the Bragha village in Manang. Also, it is a very famous pilgrimage site in the Manang with a very interesting backstory. The ancient ladders that once accessed the cave have been destroyed. However, you can still see the saint’s footprint which has been carved into the cave’s wall.

 Ice Lake 4600m

While we have a rest day in Manang for the Annapurna trekking we can make a day hiking to this beautiful lake. Ice lake  Lake is located at the connecting neck of Chulu Far East. We need to climb 1100m and takes about 4 hours from Braga. After the hard climbing, you will be rewarded with its best scenery and the stunning mountain view of  Annapurna II, Annapurna IV, Annapurna III. Also, we see the very close up view of Gangapurna, Khangsahar, Tilicho peak, and Chulu east. The lake used to freeze during night and morning time in winter and spring thus this lake is called Ice lake.

 Gangapurna Lake 3500m

This is an easy walking hike you can make from Manang of our Annapurna trekking. Gangapural lake is located at the foothill of Mt Gangapurna Glacier. This lake is formed due to the meltdown of Glacier Gangapurna. To reach this place it takes 20min from Manang. We can also see the migratory ducks swimming at the lake. The cascading  Marsyangdi River flows just through the side of this lake. We can make a shorter hike above the lake and it has interesting landscapes.

Titi Lake 2550m:

The other part of Annapurna trekking regions of the lower Mustang valley also lots of things to see. Titi lake is one of them and we can reach here after r hiking 1.5hrs uphill hiking from Kokhethanti. The walk to Lake Traverse through pine trees forest. When we reach the lake we get surprised by the surrounding beauty. From the lake, we can see Mt Dhaulagiri, Tukuchey Peak, Thapa peak, Dhaulagiri Icefall.

As we discussed the possible side trip and place of interest in the Annapurna circuit in the above paragraph. There are still a lot more possible places of interest which we haven’t mention in the above paragraph.

The Dhaulagiri Icefalls

If you wanted to make a side trip to Dhaulagiri icefalls it is quite a difficult one. it takes a  two-day-long side trip and needs a good level of physical fitness and good health conditions. This tough side trip of Annapurna trekking goes to This side trip right into the foot of the Dhaulagiri Icefall which gives great views of the Mount Dhaulagiri and Annapurna range.

We start this side trip is from the small Larjung village. Along the way, we will pass by forests, green pastures,  rhododendron, and pine forests. Another two more hours of steep climbing get to us the icefall. While returning, it is the faster ad we can take some short cut way also.

Dhumba Lake

 
We can make a great side trip to a beautiful Dhumba Lake from Jomsom of our Annapurna trekking. The lake has a clear water lake situated at the base of Mount Nilgiri. The first part of the trek goes to a beautiful Thini Village and after that will lead you Dhumba Lake.
Dhumba Lake is a sacred Buddhist lake and you will see here many prayer flags. Some locals claim to come here in order to pray for some sort of the change in their lives for their betterment. If we walk about a 15-minute walk from the lake there is a small stupa called Kuchup Terenga Gomba.

The lake provides the picturesque snow-clad peaks and spectacular views of the valley. Furthermore, this is a calm and pleasant place to relax and one of the worthy stopover if you’re in Jomsom. You can see the apple orchard and mud houses of the Thini Village which gives a peek into the Mustang culture. It was also the old salt trade route between Tibet and Nepal in the past. during the return trail, we can trek to  Marpha Village which is a famous Thakali village. you can see the apple garden everywhere here as Marpha is the apple capital of the nation. You can try the Apply brandy and take a good look at the apple and apricot industry there along with the local Tibetan monastery.

How long is the Annapurna trek?

The Annapurna trekking has a different package and it is from 2 days to 2 weeks trek. you can make it as long as possible as we can combine the 2 treks also. the Annapurna Circuit is a longer version we can do the side trip to Toilicho lake also.  The length of the Annapurna Trek is dependent upon the use of transportation also as the lower parts have a road now.  Moreover, We can do a 15 to 200 long trek in Annapurna.
