Day 1: Arrival at Kathmandu and travel to Pokhara

Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal is the starting point of most of the trips in Nepal. After you land in Nepal, you will be picked up by our office representative at TIA (Tribhuwan International Airports).  You will be directly going to the hotel. We will have a moderate temperatures and different facilities in Kathmandu.

In Kathmandu, you can take a short tour inside the city.

Pokhara- 827 meters

Pokhara is the starting point for the Poonhill trek. An easy 6/7 hours beautiful drive would take you to Pokhara. Pokhara is also marked as the gateway of the Annapurna Regions treks.  I am sure you will enjoy the scenic drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara. After reaching Pokhara, your dream comes true experience will let you into the beautiful valley of Pokhara. There are plenty of things to do there, you can either enjoy around lakesides or any tourist hubs. Other than that, you can also take a pleasant boat ride or stroll around the valley.

 

Day 2: Pokhara to Tikhedhunga through Nayapul

Nayapul Altitude -1100 meters

After exploring Pokhara, the first destination of the poon hill trek map is to go Nayapul. Take a short 1.5hrs drive to Nayapul from Pokhara. Taking a private jeep is advisable here, as the public transport will take around 2-3 hours to reach Nayapul.  You will then cross the suspension bridge and enter the Annapurna Conservation Area. Then your actual trek will start passing through the Modi Khola Rivers that lies in the left.

After walking some distance, you will reach to Birethanti. There you will need your TIMS card and ACAP entry permits to show. This point is regarded as the junction of Ghandruk trek and Ulleri village. From this junction, Ghandruk trek and the trail descending from Ulleri joins into the single trail. After that, the trail will ascend towards the Tikhedhunga.

However, there are other route options too. You can choose on your own as the route and itinerary are customizable.

Day 3: Tikhedhunga

Altitude: 1570 meters

The 3rd day of the trekking takes you to Tikhedhunga. From the junction point begin your walk. Then you reach to ascending stairs that leads to Tikhedhunga. After that, your journey will pass through several settlements of Magar and Gurung and reach the foothill of the Ulleri village. Have some rest and snacks at the teahouse and continue your journey. This day you would have quite a tough road as the hillock consist of millions of stone stairs.

Day 4: Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani

Ghorepani Altitude: 2840 meters
The trekking level of this day is quite easy. I am sure you will enjoy the flat trails without any steep ascents or descents. Interestingly, passing further will expose to different bridges, waterfalls, and dense forests comprising the diverse flora and fauna.
After walking from place to place for 4 hours you will reach the village. The big gate lying at the edge of Ghorepani greet you and welcome to the beautiful places. Now it’s time to verify your permits at the big gate on the checkpoint.

Enjoy your overnight at the beautifully decorated teahouse. Have a delightful stay there, waiting for the beautiful next day. For your king information, this Ghorepani village is the last/final stop to the Poon hill trek.

Day 5: Ghorepani to Tadapani

Poon Hill Altitude: 3210 meters
today at the morning breakfast, be ready to be served with the mesmerizing sunrise at poon hill. The sunrise will surely melt your heart. Today, ascending the trail will be your measure task.
From Ghorepani, you climb upstairs. Along the trail, forests of rhododendron will be seen. Which will avoid your boredom? Then after an easy 1 hr walk, you will reach the vantage point.

Capture the most remarkable views of the snow-covered mountain ranges, hillocks, and the villages on the horizon. And finally, after the successful climbing, you will reach to heaven. This vantage point is the trekker’s paradise. Enjoying nature is all that you have to do here. The beautiful place is all yours, enjoy the fullest. I am sure you will be amazed by the enticing natural beauty, and the serene surrounding. You can hear the birds chirping and singing.

Afterwards, you descend back to Ghorepani village. You will return through the Tadapani-Ghandruk route. Tadapani lies at an altitude of 2160 meters. Enjoy the quite flat and downhill journey from Ghorepani to Tadapani. Again crossing the beautiful villages, flora, and fauna. Spend some time at Gurung Hill, as it is considered as the second Poon Hill. Wonderful views of the background mountain ranges and the picturesque village are greeting you.
After approximately 6 hrs walking you will reach Tadapani. Stay at the teahouse for overnight.

Day 6: Tadapani to Pokhara

Ghandruk- 1940 meters
The poon hill trek map trail today is flat that also goes through jungle. Walk 5 hours and get the first view of Ghandruk village. The organized village with decorated houses. The local people in the village will serve you with warm meals, and a comfortable room to stay in.
Enough tea houses and lodges are waiting to serve you. Enjoy the typical lifestyles of the Gurung people. The culture, customs, and traditions of Gurung people will fascinate you. Descend the Sauli bazaar where you will encounter various marketplace. Then trace the roads towards Birethanti and walk to Nayapul and finally drive to Pokhara.

Day 7: Pokhara to Kathmandu

Its time to say goodbye to your trekking places. At morning breakfast, our office representative will pick you up for the journey to Kathmandu. Enjoy the scenic 6/7 hrs drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu. If you have enough time, you can explore the famous places in Kathmandu such as Pashupatinath temple. Bouddhanath Stupa, Hanumandhoka, Nagarkot, Patan Durbar Square, Shyambunath, etc.

Ghorepani Poon Hill trek cost and permits

As Poon hill trek map is the easy and shortest trek, it does not cost much more compared to other treks. You can accomplish this trek in three ways, 1: with no guide/no porter, 2: with guide/porter, 3: with a tour operator. Your cost of the trek depends upon such a factor. Additionally, the number of people, mode of transportation, number of days to stay, types of hotels are the other indicating factors for your total cost. The way you wish to go for a trek and services you choose. It will cost US$600-700 pp on average.
