Everest Base Camp Trek 14 days Itinerary

 

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (sightseeing and Trek preparation)

Altitude: 1345m/4412ft

Highlights: Explore the vibrant city; Sightseeing around the famous temples and palaces

You will be warmly welcomed to this vibrant city Kathmandu and greeted by our office representative after your arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport, and you are transferred to the hotel directly.  You are being given orientation about the trip.

Here you will explore the most famous temples and palaces filled with the architectural talents of the golden Malla era in Nepal, will visit places like Kathmandu durbar square, Patan durbar square, Bhaktapur durbar square, religious shrines like Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath, Bouddhanath and many more.

Day 2: Trek to Phakding (short flight to Lukla)

Altitude: 2840m/9320 ft (Lukla) and 2610m/8560 ft (Phakding)

The trek to Everest Base Camp begins from Lukla (lies at an altitude of 2,860m/9380ft) that takes approximately 40 mins trip from Kathmandu. Everest Base Camp is 130km far away from Lukla.

Day 3: Trek to Namche Bazaar

Day 5: Trek to Tengboche

Day 8: Trek to Lobuche

On the 8th day of the trek, you will head towards Lobuche by climbing the moraine and passing huge boulders that are displaced by the glacier. The steep climbing may be a little difficult; the jaw-dropping mountain will always motivate you. And the view you observe after reaching is worthy of the difficult journey.
Several peoples have lost their lives at the top of the hill, a long time before. You can remember them and commemorate their traveling decision.
Spend the night at Lobuche

Day 9: Trek to EBC – and then back to Gorakshep
Altitude: Everest Base Camp (5300m/17400 ft) and Gorakshep (5170m/16961 ft)
Trekking hours: Approximately 6 hours
Then You will be heading towards Gorakshep following the glacial Morane and rockery next to the highest glacier in the world, the Khumbu glacier from Labuche. Then you walk on the lap of Everest and accumulate the heavenly feeling for 2-3 hrs, and after walking 4hr walk, you will finally reach to Gorakshep.
Reaching there is the most awaited moment of the trekking journey.

After reaching the GorekShep, you will take some rest and pack your bag heading your journey towards EBC. You should walk at a slow pace to avoid the problem of altitude sickness.
From the top of the Khumbu Glacier, you can enjoy sparkling peeks, Khumbu Icefall, Pumori, and Lhotse. Descend to Gorekshep by walking down the lateral moraine of the Khumbu Glacier.
Spend overnight at Gorekshep

Day 10: Trek to Kala Pattar then to Pheriche
Altitude: Kala Pattar (5545m/18192 ft) and Periche (4270m/14070 ft)
Trekking hours: Approximately 7 hours
Highlights: closest view of Mt. Everest
After that, you climb up to Kala Patthar (2.5hrs from Gorekhshep), which serves the most intimate view of Mount Everest, which will give soothing feeling by its marvelous beauty.
The view from the highest point is incredible.
Your breath is indeed taken away, after reaching the Kala Patthar and beautiness of the
mountains will be beyond your expectations.
Spend overnight at Pheriche.

Day 11: Trek to Namche Bazaar
Altitude: 3440m/11290 ft
Trekking hours: Approximately 6 hours

A quite arduous walk from Gorakshep then leads to Namche Bazaar (3440 m).
On the 11th day, you will head down to the hills by crossing the suspension bridge and pass through small villages.
After walking around 2/3 hrs, you will reach Namche bazar (the capital city of Khumbu Valley).
You will celebrate your accomplishments and spend the night at Namche Bazaar.
