Everest base camp helicopter trek starts with the flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. Next, we will trek up to Dudh Koshi, surrounded by the peaks, and head towards Namche Baazar. Similarly, the trek will lead us to Thyangboche Monastery (Largest gompa of Khumbu region). Villages of Pangboche and Pheriche, Lobuche, and at the Everest Base Camp. Everest Base Camp Heli Trek - Trip Info

  • Duration: 08  Days from Kathmandu to Kathmandu
  • Trek Grade: Fairly Strenuous
  • Max. Altitude: Kalapathar (5545m.)
  • Best Travel Time: February to Mid June, September – Mid December are the best seasons.  Dec & January are Winter and cold can be snow on the trail, July & August are rainy time, trekking can be done, but visibility can be reduced due to rain.

Detailed Itinerary of Everest Base Camp Heli Trek

Early morning we fly from Kathmandu to Lukla flight is about 40 minutes scenic flight. With clear weather, we get fantastic views of the mountains, including Everest, as we enter deep gorge of the Dudh Kosi valley. You begin your trek from Lukla following a gentle climb up the mountainside on the left bank of the Dudh Koshi River. Along the way, you will have a view of Mt Nupla (5885m) Kusum Kangaru (6367m) and the Mount Kwongde Range. We then take a leisurely walk for about two hours to Phakding village for the overnight stop and the rest of the time stroll around the village for local knowledge.

From Phakding, the trail follows the Dudh Koshi valley north, meandering through the pines, crossing it twice by small suspension bridges before reaching the village of Monjo, the entrance gate of the Sagarmatha National Park. Beginning with a slight climb to Jhorsalle, the trail passes waterfalls and other culturally and naturally occurring items of interest. Villages are interspersed with magnificent forests of Rhododendron, Magnolia, and fir. Along the way to you will be rewarded with your first glimpse of Kusum Kanguru (6369m) Thamserku (6608m), Everest (8848m), and Nuptse (7879 m). A steep climb up to the beautiful village of Namche Bazaar (3440m) will afford you further spectacular views and a comfortable place to spend the second night of the trek.

Highlights: Getting insights to Khumjung Village

On the fourth day, Spend easy before. Day acclimatization day in NamcheBazzar by climbing 300 meters to the Khumjung town. There you will be visiting a Buddhist monastery and local schools.

Spend peaceful nights at Namche Bazar.

Trekking hours: Approximately 5 hours
Highlights: Tengboche Monastery, the largest monastery in the Khumbu region
After the long, arduous walk of 5 hr walking across the stone steps, you will reach to Mongla Pass (3975m). From the highest point of Mongla Pass, you will observe the stunning views of Mt. Ama. Dablam, Mt. Khnumbila, and Mt. Thamserku. These mountains are regarded as sacred mountains of the patron god of the Khumbu region.
Here you will get the chance to explore the Tengboche Monastery, the largest monastery of the
Khumbu region.

On the sixth day of trekking, you will continue your trail walking between the lush alpine forests. Apart from these, you will get the opportunity to gaze at the Nepalese lifestyle going across the small villages at Dingboche.
You will view the eye-catching marvelous mountains such as Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Cholatse, and many other peaks. At this place, you will be seeing the Drastically changing landscape.

Altitude: 4940m/16207 ft
Trekking hours: Approximately 5 hours
On the 8th day of the trek, you will head towards Lobuche by climbing the moraine and passing huge boulders that are displaced by the glacier. The steep climbing may be a little difficult; the jaw-dropping mountain will always motivate you. And the view you observe after reaching is worthy of the difficult journey.
Several peoples have lost their lives at the top of the hill, a long time before. You can remember them and commemorate their traveling decision.
Spend the night at Lobuche
Accommodation: Basic Teahouse
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner

Altitude: Everest Base Camp (5300m/17400 ft) and Gorakshep (5170m/16961 ft)
Trekking hours: Approximately 6 hours
Then You will be heading towards Gorakshep following the glacial Morane and rockery next to the highest glacier in the world, the Khumbu glacier from Labuche. Then you walk on the lap of Everest and accumulate the heavenly feeling for 2-3 hrs, and after walking 4hr walk, you will finally reach to Gorakshep.
Reaching there is the most awaited moment of the trekking journey.

After reaching the GorekShep, you will take some rest and pack your bag heading your journey towards EBC. You should walk at a slow pace to avoid the problem of altitude sickness.
From the top of the Khumbu Glacier, you can enjoy sparkling peeks, Khumbu Icefall, Pumori, and Lhotse. Descend to Gorekshep by walking down the lateral moraine of the Khumbu Glacier.
Spend overnight at Gorekshep
Accommodation: Basic Teahouse
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner

After that, you climb up to Kala Patthar (2 hrs from Gorekhshep), which serves the most intimate view of Mount Everest, which will give soothing feeling by its marvelous beauty.
The view from the highest point is incredible.
Your breath is indeed taken away, after reaching the Kala Patthar and beauties of the
mountains will be beyond your expectations. We will not be trekking down the same way we will take a helicopter flight down to Lukla, take same day normal flight to Kathmandu or spend overnight at Lukla and take the next day early morning flight to Kathmandu.
