Everest mini trek starts with a short flight to Lukla and trekking to Monjo. We pass through friendly Sherpa villages and Buddhist monasteries of Namche Bazaar. In Everest mini trek we explore the famous historical monastery in Tengboche. We will trek on an easy mini  Everest trail to Khumjung valley and Phakding. Khumbu Valley is one of the oldest and largest Sherpa settlements in the Khumbu region (Everest region). Everest Mini Trek - Trip Info

Duration: 05  Days from Kathmandu to Kathmandu

Trek Grade: Easy

Best Travel Time: February to Mid June, September – November are the best seasons. Dec & January are Winter and cold can be snow on the trail, July & August are rainy time, trekking can be done, but visibility can be reduced due to rain and Lukla Flight may get canceled.

Trip Snippets: 05  days, 04 nights Lodges, three meals a day ( breakfast, lunch, and dinner ) during the trek are included.

Departure Dates: We can offer this trek on any dates during the months Feb, March, April, May, June, Sept, Oct, November and December for a group of 2 to 16 people.

Equipment Rental: We advise you to bring all of your clothing and gear from home, however in Kathmandu there are many shops to buy and rent trek related equipment

Your trek Backpack/duffle bag: Our porters will carry your baggage on the trek, the maximum weight per trekkers is 15 kg, including your sleeping bag and down jacket, Other items not required on the trek can be stored in our office or your hotel in Kathmandu.

Detailed Itinerary of Everest Mini Trek

Early morning we fly from Kathmandu to Lukla via mountain flight of about 40 minutes scenic flight. With clear weather, we get fantastic views of the mountains, including Everest, as we enter deep gorge of the Dudh Kosi valley. You begin your trek from Lukla following a beautiful and easy walk through blue pine and rhododendron forest. After trekking of 3-4 hrs, you’ll be at Monjo. Spent your night at one of the excellent lodges here.

Today the trail passes waterfalls and naturally occurring items of interest. Villages are interspersed with magnificent forests of Rhododendron, Magnolia, and fir. Along the way to you will be rewarded with your first glimpse of Kusum Kanguru (6369m), Thamserku (6608m), Everest (8848m), and Nuptse (7879 m).  A steep climb up to the beautiful village of Namche Bazaar will afford you further spectacular views and a comfortable place to spend the second night of the trek.

Today we spend another night in Namche whihch is Set in a natural amphitheater looking across to the jagged ridge of Kongdi RI (6187m), Namche Bazaar is one of the most attractive settlements in the Khumbu region. We will have a full day rest so that we won’t face any problem ahead. You have full day leisure for a beautiful panoramic view or stroll around the market. You can also enjoy the splendid views of Everest, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Nuptse, Lhotse, Tawche, and Kwangde, and so on.We leave early for the hike up to the Everest View Hotel about an hour’s hike above Namche for a fantastic panorama of the Himalayas and a great view of Everest, Lhotse and Ama Dablam. After enjoying the view and relaxing with a hot coffee we continue to the traditional Sherpa villages of Khunde and Khumjung back to Namche for overnight.

The trail steeply goes downhill through Rhododendron and Pine forest to Jorasalle. It will take about two hours and another 5-hour walk to Lukla via  Monju, banker, Phakding, Ghats  Chaurikharka, Chheplung, and arrival in Lukla and overnight at Guesthouse.

After Namche Bazaar, the trail descends steeply back to Dudh Koshi River. We can enjoy a gentle walk on the trail Jorsalle. We will work through the forest of magnolia, giant firs and rhododendrons with the view of distance snow covered peak before arriving Phakding. Can have lunch stop there and continue to trek back to Lukla. The trail drops steeply and runs level through blue pine and rhododendron forest. Enjoying the lush green scenery around and passing through the incredible mountain scenery and local Sherpa village arrival in Lukla.

We return to the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu with a 45-minute flight back to the domestic airport. (It also can be an extra day in case of bad weather in Lukla, which makes the Lukla flight delayed and cancel.) In the evening, you can have your last night in Nepal enjoying the Nepali cultural dinner show exchanging greetings among friends and with other Nepalese people.
