The beautiful villages of Ghalegaun and Ghanpokhara located in the district of Lamjung are approximately 20.5km North West of Kathmandu and 12.5 km North East of Pokhara at an altitude of 2000m around. As the route of this trek, there are dense forests, followed by villages and impressive waterfalls which provide you a lifetime experience. This tour offers a superb breathtaking view of majestic western Himalayas including Machhapuchhare, Buddha Himal, Himchuli and many more peaks.
During Ghale Gaun Village Trek you will have a chance to experience the native people’s lifestyle; different culture, socio-economic condition as well as total sustainable eco-trekking. Ghalegaun-Ghana Pokhara trek start from Pokhara passing through Pakhrikot, Pasagaun to Ghale Gaun. You can enjoy the beautiful Begnas Lake and other seven nearby lakes of the region during the trek. The Ghale Gaun Village trail passes the beautiful Khudi and Midim rivers through the beautiful forest, with chances to see some of the wildlife. One can walk through jungles where you will feel blessed to see the rhododendron, chestnut, with the undergrowth of raspberry, nettle, hemp, mugwort, and many other plants. Ghale Gaun Village Trek is also famous for bird watching so we can view beautiful birds during the trial like partridges, nightingales, owls, doves, crows, eagles, kites, vultures, barbets, etc. Similarly habitat for animals like cheetahs, leopards, bears, deer, wildcats, martens, porcupines, hedgehogs, and foxes. Ghalegaun- Ghanpokhara is a model village for experiencing the typical culture and lifestyles of Ghale and Gurung people and has the fantastic moment enjoying the village lifestyle with amazing views of mountains which will give you a lifetime experience.

We will meet you at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer to your hotel. When you have had your time to settle in and freshen up after your long fight, you will be invited to visit our office for a briefing about your program. You will have meeting with your trekking guide and discuss about the equipment needed for the trekking and we will process for the trekking permits. If you arrive at night we will have same discussion in next day morning after your breakfast.
The next morning after breakfast you will leave for a full day sightseeing tour around the Kathmandu valley. You can pay your homage visiting center of pilgrimage Pashupatinath Temple (for Hindus) and Swyambhunath (for Buddhists). These are very ancient and historical pride of Nepal importantly enlisted in UNESCO World Heritage sites. The biggest Buddhist Stupa at Boudhnath and the fine arts and historical architecture of Kathmandu Durbar Square reflects the uniqueness and diversity in Nepalese culture. On journey back to hotel, you can travel around the local areas, gullies and lifestyle. You can perhaps take relaxed walk through the famous streets like Thamel, King’s way etc.
After having your breakfast, we will drive you to the Domestic Airport to take a 25 minutes flight to Pokhara. Or if you wish you can take a Tourist bus to Pokhara about 6-7 hour drive exploring & enjoying with scenic beauty all the way around. In the evening, a boating trip on Phewa Lake will be followed where you can enjoy the spectacular views of Annapurna Himalaya Range reflected in all its glory in the calm green water of the lake.
From Pokhara today we will have a very exciting 3 hour drive in the rough roads and reach Thumsikot. The rough drive offers you the amazing natural beauties and flora and fauna through the journey. Trekking starts from Thumsikot. We will have the first part of trek easy going. You can enjoy the beautiful Begnas Lake and other seven nearby lakes of the region. The next part of the trekking trail now becomes tough as ascending to Nangidhar or Pakhrikot. It is a beautiful Gurung village at an altitude of 1900m. Enjoy the traditional culture, customs and lifestyle of the people. Spend your night in a local house with much respect.
Today trekking trail is several hour straight walk. The trekking passes through forests, beautiful waterfalls and views of various birds or their chirpings. Then it is straight 2 hrs descending to a place called Bagaicha. We will have our lunch here and continue our trek to Pasagaun village. This village is much more cleanly compared to the Nangidhar or Pakhrikot. The living style of the people is well and even the food and other facilities are sound. You have a beautiful and clean night to sleep.
This is the longest day of our trekking. Initially it begins with a descending of about 3 hours and again ascending for another 2 and ½ hours. On the way you can stop at Bhujung for the rest and lunch. Bhujung is a compact and a densely populated village looking really attractive from little down hill and on its way to the village. (If you can’t further move ahead, you can spend your night here.) After Bhujung, our journey is on straight walk to Ghalegaun or Ghanpokhara for about 2 and ½ hours. Ghalegaun is a beautiful Gurung village. One can enjoy the incredible views of majestic mountain ranges from this village. At the evening you will be accompanied by local cultural programs of Gurung people.
Today is the last day of the trek. It is simple path downhill descending. It is almost continuous down trek for almost four hours. The trail passes through the beautiful forest, with chances to see some of the wildlife’s. It is also famous for bird watching so you may have views of beautiful birds. It really can be a birdwatcher’s paradise. Stop at Khudi for the lunch and take a drive from here to Kathmandu.
At the evening you can have your last night in Nepal enjoying the Nepali cultural dinner show, taking some beautiful snaps and making up your mind for the returning journey. You can have a greetings exchanging among friends and with all Nepalese people.
We will take you to the International Airport for your convenience. Wish you a happy journey in the traditional and cultural way of us Nepalese and Good-Bye with a hope to see you again.
