Detailed Itinerary of Kathmandu Valley Rim Trekking

We will meet you at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer to your hotel. When you have had your time to settle in and freshen up after your long fight, you will be invited to visit our office for a briefing about your program. You will have meeting with your trekking guide and discuss about the requirements for the trekking and we will process for the trekking. If you arrive at night we will have same discussion in next day morning after your breakfast.

Drive about 1 hour from Kathmandu takes you to trek start point Sundarijal. From Sundarijal the trail climb up besides the water pipes which supplies Kathmandu drinking water. The trail will enter through the Shivapuri Watershed and Wildlife Reserve which offers a rich insight into the lives, history, culture and religion of its inhabitants. From the top of Shivapuri, one can have a panoramic view of the western mountains like Mt. Manaslu, Mt. Ganesh Himal Range, Mt. Langtang Range, Mt. DorjeLhakpa Mt. Shisapangma, Mt. GauriShankar and many more.
The trail continues up hill through the forest to meet the Mulkharka Village (1894m) with the inhabitants of Tamang people. The trail continues with climbing on the forest of rhododendron and oaks after pass the Borlang Bhanjyang trail goes downhill to Chisopani (2140m). The mountain of Manaslu to Everest offers wonderful photography and panoramic views. Spend your night at lodge.

After having our breakfast, we continue our trekking through mostly flat downhill trail to Nagarkot. Trekking goes between the village and forest with the great views of country site and mountain. Nagarkot offers breathtaking views of the Himalayan Mountains, quality accommodation, and high standards of service. Nagarkot is much more away from the hustle and bustle of urban life. Well known as a place to watch beautiful sunrises and sunsets and also Mount Everest can be seen on a clear day including other 12 peaks. From here we get breathtaking views of Mt. Everest, Manaslu and Gauri Shankar, DorjeLhakpa and other mountains. Stay in hotel overnight.

We wake up early to catch the sun rising over the snowy Himalayan peaks. The first rays of the sun firing the peaks a lightest red slowly lighting up the Himalayas from Kanchenjunga and Everest in Far East of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri in the West. After breakfast we will trek down to old Newari town of Dhulikhel. It is an old Newari trade station en route to the Tibetan plateau. It is an ideal place for visitors to enjoy natural environment, the local lifestyle, old Newari culture and spectacular views. Overnight in Hotel.

After breakfast take a drive to Bhaktapur. We explore Bhaktapur city’s Durbar Square. Attractions include the Palace of 55 Windows Palace, Golden Gate, Nyatapolo Temple and several ancient temples and monuments. Bhaktapur is also famous for its pottery. Taste the famous Curd known as “Juju Dhau”(meaning King’s Crud) of Bhaktapur.
We will explore Patan City (city of fine arts), full of Buddhist monuments and Hindu temples. The attraction includes fine bronze gateways, guardian deities and wonderful carved temples like Krishna Mandir. You can also visit Patan Durbar Museum. Noted for its craftsmen and metal workers, it is also known as the city of artists. The ancient kind of houses and local narrow paths might make you amazed. If you are leaving Nepal and not continuing your holiday here in Nepal, we will take you to the Kathmandu Airport to catch your flight home. Our staff will oversee your safe and timely arrival at the Tribhuvan International Terminal and help you arrange your last minute departure details.
