Langtang trek in Nepal

The coldest season of  Langtang trekking in Nepal is starting in December which is the last month of the year.Langtang trek in December will amuse you with the winter beauty. Walking from the lower altitude of 1400m to the highest point of Langtang at Kang jin gompa 3900m is pretty hard.

Nepal Langtang trek varies from moderate to extreme weather conditions. The nights are much colder than the day, and the temperature may drop to minus. that is why you can have pin-sharp views of the Mountain in December. Naya Kang (5,844m) and Yala Peak (5,520m). Since Nepal was devastated by the destructive earthquake in 2015, the entire settlement of the Langtang region was affected no only by the earthquake. Its aftershock led to many dangerous landslides.

Langtang Trekking Distance

The total distance of the Langtang trek route is about 65 kilometers / 40 miles. But the Langtang trek distance every day is different and it is roughly about 12 – 15 kilometers. We will trek through The Bhote Koshi Riverside flowing down from Tibet and follows the Langtang river glacier. Furthermore, the distance until Kyanjing gompa is roughly 25 kilometers. Thus, the final distance from Kathmandu to Langtang’s start point is 147 each way.

In Langtang Trek, the hiking starts from Syabrubesi. After we arrive at Langtang Village we will visit Kyanjing Gompa and can hike up to Tsergori. From here we will again come back to Syabrubeshi to end the hiking. We can finish this hiking distance by 6 days of trekking. The distance of total trekking in Langtang ranges between 60-80 kilometers. While The average walking duration during this trek is between 6-7 hours per day. We will drive to Syabrubesi and back for the trekking.

Langtang valley trek 7 days

Langtang trek 7 days is much more popular these days for short-time trekkers. The minimum number of days you can do trekking in Langtang valley is 7 which includes 5 days of actual trekking and 2 days of commute to and from Kathmandu. The 2 days of the trek are almost drive to Syabru Besi and back to Kathmandu.

During the 7 days trek of Langtang valley On average, you will be walking 6 hours per day. The actual walking starts from Syabrubesi and then in two days you will reach the highest point of your trek, Kang Jin Gompa (3900m). 1 day we can take a rest and explore a day in the High mountain valley. from here we will again descend back to Syabrubesi in two days from where you will drive back to Kathmandu.

The Langtang trek 7 days full board package cost will come from USD 700- to USD 800. Cost depends on different factors and transportation plays an important role. AS the Private jeep transport to Syabrubesi and back is much more expensive than taking a local bus. The above-given cost will cover all the Langtang trekking costs. In this total cost, you will be paying for the cost of your food, accommodation, permits, transportation, and all service charges.

For the Langtang trek 7 days, we will need 2 different trekking permits. One is TIMS(Trekkers’ Information Management System) and another one is the Langtang National Park Permit. TIMS permit will cost you about $10 and Langtang National Park Permit will cost you around $30. In our package trip, we will arrange the necessary trekking permit for you, you just need to pass us your passport details and photographs.

Langtang valley trek 8 days

The Langtang trek 8 days long trip reaches a maximum elevation of 3800 meters at Kyangjin Gompa. The best time for this trek to get the mesmerizing views of lush green landscape and spectacular mountain peaks is during the crystal clear days of Spring and Autumn.

Langtang  trek itinerary

The Langtang trek itinerary will follow the route map from the lower region of the Langtang region through the small villages, farmlands, and verdant forest to Kyanjing Gompa. On our rest day at Kyanjing Gompa, we can also go for a day hiking to Tserko Ri for the excellent view of sunrise over the Langtang mountain ranges. As the region is the borders to Tibet which was an important trade route in the pasta and we can still see the Tibetan influence in the local culture. Furthermore, Our trek itinerary also takes us to the Langtang village which was affected by the devastating earthquake in Nepal in April 2015.

The Langtang  trek start point is Syabru Besi which takes about 7 to 8 hours’ drive to cover 117 km from Kathmandu to SyabruBesi. During our mountain road drive, we can also enjoy the scenic views of the peak and rice terrain’s farmland. SyabruBesi bazaar is cramped with lodges and hotels and we will choose one of the good ones for you.

After the night at Syabru Besi, the next day trek will go through magnificent forests to the high alpine meadows and yak pastures around Kyangjin Gompa (a Buddhist monastery). From here, we will take you for an optional day hike up to the top of Kyangjin Ri (peak), where the 360-degree views of the Himalayan mountains are truly spectacular.

After spending our memorable time at Kyanjing Village, we will start to trek back through the Langtang magnificent valley, until we reach Syabru Besi whereafter we will take the bus back to Kathmandu.

This is your day first and the actual journey begins of Langtang trek with a luxurious and fascinating scenic drive from Kathmandu to Syafru Beshi. Syafru Beshi is such an amazing place, situated at the lap of hills around. You will be going through the green hills, rivers, spring falls and the views of snowy white mountains. You will be ascending down towards this place. And upon reaching there, you will be able to explore the surrounding in a better way. The place surrounded by the little villages of various ethnic groups like Sherpa’s and Tamang’s. You will be amazed to see the beauty of this place. And to add up your excitement and give you a rest for tomorrow you will also have a night over at this place today.

This is our first day of Langtang tre with lots of excitement. We start our journey after breakfast at Syabru Besi. We will cross The Bhote Koshi River which comes from Tibet and following the Langtang Khola.  Along the trail, we can visit the Gompa of Guru Rinpoche. The route also follows the stone-paved main street out of town over Langtang Khola. We will have a gradually ascends trek to Bamboo passing by a landslide. Today we are mostly trekking in the subtropical forest, which is cover by oak and maple, massive spruce, fir, and blue pine. We pass through the forests of oak and rhododendron. A variety of wildlife; yellow-throated martens, wild boars, Langur monkeys, red pandas, and Himalayan black bears, etc. are inhabitance the forest. Afterward, your trek ascends gently to Rimche (2400m). We have finally the flat-level trails before we arrive at Lama Hotel for the overnight stay.

After breakfast starts our Langtang trek with a gentle climb and soon become steeper. We are climbing through wild forests of hemlocks, oaks, We also pass by maples and white and pink rhododendrons high above the Langtang Khola. The stunning view of snow-capped peaks starts appearing along with a fleeting view of Mt. Langtang Lirung (7244m) through the trees. The trail goes with a small suspension and some places have a wooden bridge. On climbing further, we come across lush meadows of Ghora Tabela (2992m). The trail climbs up slowly as the valley opens up into classical glacial.

We are also passing by helipad and yak pastures, climb briefly through rhododendrons, and scattered Tamang villages. The visit to different small streams and climbs past several water-driven mills and prayer wheels to the large settlement of Langtang (3430m), headquarter of Langtang National Park. The Langtang village has flat-style-roofed Tibetan-style houses, and elaborately carved driven windows of the upper town are worth exploring.  The Langtang valley is covering with stone walls enclosing fields where buckwheat, potatoes, wheat, turnips, and barley are planted, and easy to find yak and the wild goats wondering around you.

The first part of the trail goes through the village and climbs a ridge topped by a large Chorten. It then climbs gradually past an impressive mani wall, crossing a stream to the small village of Mundu (3543m/11,621ft). Today we pass by few streams with wooden cantilever bridges and moraines, you can finally see the monastery of Kyanjin Gompa and the dramatic icefall flowing from the peaks of Langtang Lirung and Kimshung.  You can’t miss the chance to taste local cheese and curd by Yak milk; it is remarkable in this place. After having lunch, you can have a rest or continue exploring the Langtang Kyanjing regions which give you the best panoramic views of Langtang Lirung (7246m), Genjempol, Kyangjin RI (4750m.), Tsergo RI (5000m.), Ganja la (5160m.), Langshisa- Ri (6427m.), Dorje Lhakpa (6430m.), Naya Kang (5844m.), Yala peak (5500m).

Today is our free and easy day. We can go climbing more higher to see the close of view of the high Himalayas. You can make it an easy day and have resting also with a cup of coffee. After breakfast, you can go to see the monastery and the cheese factory or may walk up the moraine to see the spectacular ice faces and tumbling glaciers of Langtang Lirung or ascend Kyanjin Ri (4350m) and Tserko Ri (5,000m), which is the highest point of this trek. Let’s enjoy the easy hiking to the panorama of the Langtang Lirung, Langtang range, Kinshung, Yansa Tsenji. We can also do the other side trips like a hike to Langshisa Kharka. The surrounding areas of the North having many smaller uninhabited valleys. Spend your night back to the Kyanjin.

After the top point of the Langtang trek now is time to return back to Syabru Besi via the same trail. Today we will go to the Lama hotel. Enjoy your breakfast with the last close-up view of the high Himalayas and snowy capped mountains breathtaking view. We are taking the same route as the trekking  Langtang Khola to Langtang village with  Ghora Tabela. After having a lunch stop continue the steep descent to Lama Hotel. the trail today is mostly downhill, you will see fantastic views of towering mountain what you have missed on the way up.

Today is our last day of the Langtang trek before heading to the last stop of the journey. As usual, after breakfast, we start our hike back to Syabru Bensi. The trail is mostly downhill through the lush green vegetation with enjoying fascinating views of Mountains and green hills. the trails are mostly up and downhill bypassing a few small villages, which provides us the opportunity to get a closer look at the customs and culture of the Tamang ethnic group. Reach to Syabru for the overnight stay.

We will drive back to Kathmandu today by local bus. The trails pass by rice terraces, streams, rivers, local settlements, high hills, and along the Trishuli riverside. The road is rough and depends on traffic roughly it takes 6- 7 hours back to Kathmandu, you will be taken to your hotel, Enjoy the best hot shower after the mountain. In the evening, join a farewell dinner in a Nepali typical Restaurant with the memories of your trekking adventure. Have some time for a stroll over the streets.

Langtang trekking 14 days

14 days trekking in the Langtang region with visiting the 3 most beautiful areas. In the second part of the Langtang trek, we will go to the Gosaikunda trek which climbs more steeply through farmland and above the tree line up an alpine ridge. It also offers a huge Himalayan panorama, to reach a rocky bowl studded with sacred high altitudes lakes. There are 108 lakes in this area among them the most popular lake are Gosaikunda, Saraswatikunda, and Ganeshkunda which are nearby each other. Every year, these sacred places are visited by thousands of Hindu Pilgrims during the month of August on the occasion of Janai Purnima on full moon day.

Drinking enough water will protect you from altitude illness on Langtang trek. Staying hydrated is important at altitude surprise, drinking water is most often the best and cheapest way to stay hydrated and rehydrate. 2.Clean hands!

The main purpose of it is to bandana’s main purpose is usually to protect its wearer from the sun or to assist with absorbing sweat. This moisture and helps to reduce the dryness of air you breathe in. It is very useful to keeps the dust-out. 4.Sunblock everywhere!

The sun is very strung during the daytime of the Langtang  trek so the UVA and UVB rays will penetrate much more in the high altitude thin air. So It is important to use high SPF sunscreen on high altitudes in order to get complete protection from the harmful sun rays. You must use a sunscreen of SPF 40 or higher in order to protect your skin from UVA and UVB rays no matter what rating of SPF your cream has, reapply every 2 hours. We suggest you buy a ‘broad-spectrum’ sunscreen blocks out both UVA and UVB rays.

5.Wear a hat

The sun hat is another essential thing during your trekking in Langtang. 6. Careful about what you wear and on your shoes!

It is notoriously difficult to predict the weather in the mountain. At night, it is generally cold and the days are generally warm. There will be snow during the month of December and February. It is important to make sure that you can stay warm and dry in just about any conditions. The fluctuation in temperature is an unavoidable feature of the Himalayas.

There is no rule on how many miles you walk per day. It depends on your physical fitness and interest. Normally, In our Langtang valley trek we walk about 5 to 7 hours per day which is about 10 km to 18 km per day However, it depends on the altitude and condition of the way, while we are at a very high altitude we walk less and down part of the trail we walk more. Be sure that all of our treks are designed on the principle of working 5 to 7 hours per day.

Langtang valley tea house trek

The tea house trek is a staying in a typical wooden and stone made hut or building with a kitchen, dining hall, bedrooms, and bathroom. The tea houses on the  Langtang valley trek are basically the local lodges mostly owned and managed by the local people of the Langtang region. They serve all the basic needs of the trekkers. A tea house may sound like a typical house that serves tea/coffee. But, the tea houses on Langtang valley trek serve food, accommodation, and other amenities to the trekkers trekking in the Himalayas.

The concept of Tea houses in the Langtang valley trek region began when the trekkers started to flourish in the Langtang region. Before that, all the trekking in Nepal was Camping trek and which is much more expensive compare to the Tea house trek. During the camping trek, the trekkers had to carry large tents and necessary items for accommodation as well as for food. there was more Nepali staff also guide, cook, Sherpa, and porters.

The quality, facilities, and services of tea houses may depend on which elevation they are situated at. You can get more facilities of lower elevation tea house comparing to the higher region. Nowadays new tea houses start building and offers more facilities and good room. There are some tea houses in the Dhunche and Syabru Besi and Kyanjing Gompa also, which provide the standard facility of accommodation and international cuisine, beverages, and many other amenities.


The room in the tea house of Langtang valley trek will be two beds on each side of the room which are separated by a wooden tea table in between. you need to take your own sleeping bag but, there will be facilities of a pillow, bed-sheet, coverlet or duvet. It is easier to get a single room during off-season time.

The difficult Langtang trekking route

Ganja la Pass trek is the most difficult trek of Langtang trekking region and descendant of Tibetan origin, they still look like Tibetans. This is a more adventurous and unique route than other trekking in Langtang. The route will offer panoramic Himalayan views with beautiful Langtang valley and Helambu valley. the trails mainly go through the alpine forests, rich flora and fauna, and high altitude pasturelands.  We will mostly trek in the Langtang National park area. The people of this area are mainly Sherpa and Tamang whose religious practices, languages, and dress are much similar to those of Tibet. The trekking has moderate temperate, sub-alpine vegetation, and diverse wildlife.

Furthermore, the excursion to Tserko Ri (5,000m/16,404ft) offers tremendous views of the Langtang Himalaya range. Our highest point that needs to pass is  (5122m) which is tough on the Langtang trekking route. While you are on the top of the pass you will find it covered with snowy ice most of the time throughout the year. We will get a stunning view of the Langtang Lirung and the snowy summits of the Tibetan border. Langtang Ganja la Pass trek includes the Spectacular mountain views of Langtang Lirung, Dorje Lakpa, Mount, Gaurishanker, Ganesh Himal, Langshisa Ri, Gangchenpo. Hiking up to Tsergori

Tsergo Ri is closer to Kyanjin Gompa and the route up is relatively straightforward, although a bit of a slog. We will do the day hiking trip here when we have a rest day at Kyanjing Gompa. Tsergo Ri peak is in the Langtang valley trekking Region which is rise 5033 m. above the sea levels. We trek the magnificent Langtang trekking and the Himalayas views capture from Tsergo Ri peak, also the same views from Kyanjin Ri, the Kyanjin RI. It is about 2 hours hiking trip from is close Kyanjin Gompa and reaches at 4773 m. Furthermore, if you want to go to the summing of Tsergori It is about 5 hours to top and 3 hours back to Kyanjin Gompa. Don’t forget to get the packed Lunch from your tea house at Kyanjin Gompa if you are going climbing.

We can get a very close-up view of Yala peak 5,520 m, Langtang Ri 7,205 m. Langtang Lirung 7,227 m, Naya Khang 5,844m from Tsergori. While you do our Langtang valley trek package you will have a chance to hike up to Tergo Ri peak and Kyanjin Ri, these trekking itineraries are 8 days from Kathmandu.

Trek to Kyanjin Ri (4,773 m)

This is another great day hike in our Langtang trekking from Kyanjing Gompa. This place is the viewpoint that sits above the Kyanjin Gompa village and east of the Langtang Lirung and Kinshung glacier. However, the trail is more climbing uphill and takes about tIt is about 2-3 hours. The Western path route is relatively tougher than the eastern path but it breathtaking mountain vista and close sights of the glaciers. Where the eastern route is comparatively easier with zigzag ascends on the sloppy grassy mountains.  While you are on the summit you feel Waho and get the magnificent Mountain views of Langtang Lirung (7,227 m), Yubra (6,246 m), Changbu (6,251 m), Naya Kanga (5,863 m), Kinshung (6,781 m), Dangpache (6,567 m), Shelbachum (6,707 m), Morimoto (6,150 m), Yala Peak (5,700 m) and Tsergo Ri on the north. Also, you can watch  Langtang Lirung and Kinshung glacier with together the glacier lakes.

Trek to Lamgshisa Kharka (4,285 m)

Compare to other side rips in Langtang trekking this is an easier one. We will hike in the mountain valley which is surrounding by high snow-capped peaks. We will most trek in the flat on the grassy pasture and moraine afar the human residence. You will Often passe seasonal yak pasture in the wilder gorge.  You can get a packed lunch and enough water for the day.  We will pass the stone trail in the extensive monsoon washed path mostly in the then walking bank of the river with a passing series of a stone cairn. Get the best view of above  6000 m peaks,  Langshisa Ri (6,427 m), Ganchenpo (6,387 m), and also Morimoto (6,150 m.  This is also the valley for the home of the snow leopard also regularly spot blue sheep. Around Langshisa Kharka is covered by moraine and glaciers. It is about a 5-6 hours round trip from Kyanjin Gompa to Langshisa Kharka then returns to Kyanjing Gompa.

Easily accessible from Kathmandu and Pokhara

A private four-wheeler drive or driving on a local bus, Langtang is just 7-8 hours of a short drive away from Kathmandu You can start the trek also from Pokhara by 8 hours driving to Dhunche or Syabrubesi. We will start the trek to Langtang valley from Syabrubesi by following the off beaten route till the highest human settlement: Kyanjin Gompa (3,803m/12,556ft).

As we will trek lower than 4000m height so no need to worry about the Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) below. Langtang is a moderate destination and is the best alternative to the Annapurna Everest trek region.

Day hiking to Kyanjin Ri

While we are trekking in the Langtang region in the short time frame we can go hiking to the small peak. The area has numerous peaks for climbing. Among them, Naya Kanga, Yala Peak, Langtang Lirung, Tserko Ri, etc are popular to trekkers. Climbers can try the easy peak and get some experience by climbing the Yala Peak and Naya Kanga Peak of the Langtang region. These peaks are easy and anybody can try them and become the ideal choice for peak climbing in Nepal. The Yala Peak climbing is a much cheaper and easy one as it doesn’t need a climbing permit and is technically easy. We just need 2 days of trekking from the Kyanjin Gompa to the Yala Peak summit.

Trekking to the valley of glaciers and sacred lakes:

Langtang trekking in Nepal is also called the valley of glaciers and sacred lakes. As we will trek into the world’s longest Langtang glacier, and trek to Gosaikunda lake (4,830m), Bhairabkunda, and around 50-70 icy glacier lakes originated from the mighty Himalayas. We will trek to Gosaikunda Lake also called frozen lake which is one of the sacred lakes of Nepal. As the lakes hold pilgrimage importance so you can see the many local pilgrimage treks in the region in April and August. Many Hindu pilgrims visit this lake for the holy bath. During the wintertime, the lake is full of ice and offers the best mountain view. There are many other small lakes nearby Gosaikunda for day hiking trips.

The Langtang region trekking is culturally rewarded treks. Passing by the fluttering prayer flags, Mani wheels, and ancient Gompas reflect the deep-rooted religious importance of the Langtang region. Langtang Valley Trek – Trip Info

Duration: 10 Days from Arrival to Departure

Max. Altitude: Kyanjing Gompa (3,870m/12,697ft)

Trek Grade: Moderate

Langtang valley trek is a moderate level of the trek route.  The moderate level of trekking is about 5/6 hours walking with the lunch stop en-route and arrive at your camp in the late afternoon. Most trek days are 5 to 6 hours long so we may take a lunch stop en-route in this grade we will also use some smaller, less well-traveled trails that may be rockier underfoot and a little steeper. These Moderate grade treks go up to 4100m in height and durations are 5 to 08 days.

The moderate grade trek overall is not that long, usually 7 – 10 days in total. There will be we can have a chance to get the altitude sickness above 3000m. making sure to climb high and come to sleep at low after 3000m We suggest that if you are at a reasonable level of fitness. You don’t need to be an experienced trekker to enjoy this trip – it might be your first ever trek.

Trekking Dates:  You can do this trek on any date.  The best time is Feb, March, April, May, June, Sept, Oct, November, and December for a group of 2 to 12 people. the rainy season is not that good for the trek as the views are not great and sometimes landslides can happen.

Your trekking luggage:  You will have 1 porter for 2 trekkers basis to carry your luggage. the maximum weight per trekkers is 15 kg as we never overload our porters. however, you only carry your valuables in your backpack., including your sleeping bag, and down jacket; other items not required on a trek can be stored in our office or your hotel in Kathmandu or Pokhara.

Your Trek Leader and Support staff

Your Langtang valley trek is leading by or experience trekking guide and porter who are joining you from Kathmandu. All of our guides have trained for and attained a Trekking Guide license provided by the Government. The license exam is organized by TAAN and Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management (NATHAM) every year. They have vast knowledge about the trekking trails and kinds of medical treatments and emergency services of first aids, altitude sickness, and other relevant issues. Your belongings will be safely taken by our Porter, making your walk easy, more pleasant, and comfortable. Our porter will carry a maximum of 30 kg in total for 2 trekkers’ bag. If you have any extra weight, We suggest you hire another porter and will cost extra cost.

Transportation on the trek

For Langtang valley trek main way to get there is by driving. Above the Himalaya, trekking is always careful to choose the best transport options available for your travel period. We choose the transport means as per your package itinerary and budget also. For the Langtang valley trek, there are 2 types of transportation, The local bus is most of the trekkers using way but the drive is not that comfortable, It is included in our trekking package. The bus stops in many places and arrives at Dhunche in the evening. For your comfort and easy travel, you can take a private LandCruiser at an extra cost. It is cleaner, drive fast and you can stop wherever you like on the way.

Passport and Visa info

First, be sure you have a valid passport with at least 6 months’ validity from the return date.  You can obtain visas for Nepal from the Nepalese Consulate in your country or upon arrival at Kathmandu Airport. USD 30 or equivalent convertible currency for 15 days for single/multiple entries. If you get a visa for 30 days It is USD 50 or equivalent convertible currency. USD 125 or equivalent convertible currency for 90 days for single/multiple entries

You can get a Nepal visa before arrival from the Nepalese Embassy in your home country. Likewise, you can easily get an upon arrival visa at Kathmandu airport and other different borders from Nepal.

We find that most travelers find themselves in difficulty as sometimes; they don’t carry money to get a visa at the time of their arrival. There is no ATM inside the visa section. Though there is a provision of ATM outside, it is more likely that sometimes it doesn’t work. So, for your comfort, we recommend you bring the cash US$ to get them on arrival visa.

Money Exchange for the trek

To exchange the extra money for your Langtang valley trek you can exchange for Nepali rupees. Nepal banknotes comes in Rupees, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 250, 500, 1000 denominations. Coins come in Rupees 1, 2, 5, and 10 denominations. Foreign currencies must be exchanged only through banks or authorized money exchangers. The receipts of such transactions are to be obtained and retained. Visitors can exchange foreign currency at the foreign exchange counter at the airport upon arrival too, Although their rates are quite low so better you can exchange in the city.

You can also get money from ATMs there are many in the city and it allows you a maximum of 40,000 per day. Visitors other than the Indian nationals have to make the payment in foreign currency (non-Indian currency) in the hotel. It also applies to book your trekking and tour. During the Langtang valley trek, you need local Nepali rupees for your extra expenses. So you can carry enough amount for the trek there are no ATM facilities along the way except Dhunche.

Note: Most of the banks and money changers in Nepal are not accepting old foreign currency notes, torn, or faded. Please ensure that you have new, clean notes

Accommodation in Langtang valley trek

Accommodation in the Langtang valley trek is a lodge and at teahouse. If we compare the accommodation in the Annapurna region and Everest regions it is much more basic here. You will sleep in a basic room with a bed, mattress, bed cover, and pillow. You need your own sleeping bag and better to have a sleeping bag liner also. The facilities are quite basic at the lodge. In some places, there is no electricity but they have solar power in the dining room and. You can charge your battery for cell phones and cameras at extra cost.

Food during the Langtang trek

During our Langtang valley trekWe will eat at the local guest house. We will include your daily meals on our package, which covers your breakfast, lunch, and dinner. All the guest houses have a menu that is fixed by a National park or conservation area project. There are local to international hygienic food choices.

You will eat at the same tea house where you stay. To be vegetarian is better in high altitude and remote areas. The meet items are carried in a long way, so not fresh. The typical Nepali food is Dal Bhat ( Rice lentil, mixed vegetable curry, and pickle)

For breakfast, you will have a choice of pancakes (plain, apple, cinnamon, lemon, etc.) served with peanut butter or honey; porridge; egg items (scrambled, boiled, fried, omelet); bread (toast, chapatti). Lunch and dinner try Nepali food, They will also serve pasta, pizza, garlic soup, momos, curry, macaroni, and other rice and noodle-based dishes are served.

Drinking water during your Trek: 

On the Langtang valley trek, We suggest you at least drink 3/4  liters of water per day while you are on the trail. While bottled mineral water can be purchased all over Kathmandu and along popular trekking trails, plastic water bottles are a significant problem in Nepal’s mountain areas. So instead of relying on bottled water, travelers should instead purify their water.

Get the water purification iodine or tablets. They are small, cheap, and light to carry, another better way is to get water filters they are low to carry and easy to use. You can bring two reusable water bottles. So that you always have one bottle to drink from, while the water in your other bottle is being purified.

 Showers and electricity – Most of the tea houses in the Langtang valley trek have a solar hot shower and have cold showers available. Few of them have gas Guizar or electricity hot shower. Few places every charge the cost for hot showers for the extra cost of around USD 3 to 4. Electricity is usually available in most parts of the route with hydropower, you can charge your battery for camera and phone, normally they charge an extra cost of about USD 1 to 2 for full battery charging.

Langtang valleyt rek group size

Our Langtang valley trek group sizes are quite small and from 2 people to 10. We always make a small group to reduce the impact on the environment and to enable us to provide a more personal service. The maximum group size on most of our treks/tours is 12 and the minimum group size is 2. if you are a single traveler we also operate a private solo trip for you. Health and Fitness: The main things to trek in Langtang valley need your positive thinking and you need to able to walk 5/6 hours on the rocky trail. You can be fit for the trek before you arrive here by doing small exercises in your home country. The more stamina you built up is easier it to trek for  Langtang valley. To boost your stamina you can do running, cycling, Zumba, or some yoga practices. You will be walking 5 to 7 hours a day during the so be prepare for your legs. The best exercise you can do in-home is squats and lunges.

Altitude sickness:  Our entire Langtang valley short trek itinerary is designed to climb slowly to prevent altitude sickness. When we ascend above 2500 meters, our bodies have to acclimatize to the decreasing amount of oxygen available. The early symptoms are a headache, extreme fatigue, and loss of appetite. The only cure for Acute Mountain Sickness is to descend. When we climb slowly, avoid alcohol during your trek, eat crabs food, drink ¾ liters of water daily will help you.

Communication  during Langtang valley trek

In Langtang valley trek the use of internet service will be available at the lodges with some extra service charge. while you are in Langtang alley trek there are telephones facilities in many villages. Our guide has a cellular phone and We’ll communicate with them frequently to know the trek and your health. Furthermore, we are making sure to make sure you’re fine, safe, feel right, and have everything up there. Also, the easy way now is you can get the local sim card on arrival at the airport which has a 4g/3g network in most of the routes.  Now Most of the places in the trekking route have wifi service available Normally Wi-Fi works for every part of the trek in lodge/lodges which will be provided with a minimal fee or someplace have free.

Travel rescue Insurance

We suggest you have a full travel insurance package that covers medical, personal accident, emergency evacuation, furthermore, it should also include, trip cancellation, loss of gears, natural calamity, theft of or damage to baggage, etc. While you trek in the high altitude some time you get illnesses, small injured, or get sick. If you will get any problem and get ill or injured during your trek, Above the Himalaya trekking will taking care of you and in an emergency, we will rescue you.

If small injuries and health problems and altitude sickness are getting during the trek. Our staff will descend to you immediately. For the more serious medical issues, emergency  Above the Himalaya trekking company will arrange helicopter rescues for you.

We need a guarantee of payment from your Insurance company or a cash deposit or a promise in Kathmandu. While you are trekking with Above The Himalaya Trekking, we will arrange the travel rescue insurance and initial payments. We will claim the refund from your insurance company again. Make sure when you buy the insurance it should cover bother rescue and medical assistance. We suggest you giving your full insurance information while you book your trip with us. For an emergency case, this will help us to arrange a quick and effective rescue operation and get emergency medical help.


Langtang trek Package Cost:

Langtang valley trek cost depends on your group size how you travel by bus or private car and your trekking staff. Our package includes a trekking guide, porter, transportation by private car. It also includes the necessary trekking permits, accommodation meals, all service charges, and taxes. You can do the half board package also just hiring a guide, porter, get permits. for your meals and accommodation during the trek, you can pay by yourself also. While you are on the tour and trekking, you can tip the guide and porter. Normally, people tip 10% of their payable amount. If you have booked the full board package for your trekking and tour. but if you just hire a guide and porter service you can tip differently on a per-day calculation basis.

We don’t suggest tipping while you have something to eat at the restaurant as they have already taken a 10% service charge, and 13% Government Taxes. However, while you enter the hotel, the bell boy may expect some tipping.

Trip extension

After completing your Langtang valley trek, if you have more time you can do different activities in Nepal. You can go to Chitwan National park for a Jungle safari tour or can do a day Rafting trip.  Pokhara is a famous place for different adventure activities like Paragliding, Ultralight flight, Bungy Jump. We can arrange different tours and put these extra activities as optional tours and They are not included in your package cost.
