The Trek to Lower Mustang starts with a flight or Drive to Jomsom Via Pokhara. The Trek further takes you to Kagbeni to Muktinath to Lupra village. Lower Mustang is known as the best place to experience the Tibetan culture as it is considered to have a historical and cultural relationship with Tibet for a long time. With this, the trek offers you the opportunity to witness the Gurung community and their unique lifestyle. During your journey through Jomsom area, you will experience beautiful, traditional Nepali lifestyle and culture.
The highlights of the trek is visit Kagbeni which is a unique famous village of Baarah Gaun (lit. twelve villages) region in Mustang district and a gateway to Upper Mustang. It is a fascinating medieval village with closely packed mud brick houses, dark alleys and imposing Chhortens. The village stands in a little green oasis dominated by its red monastery. The “Kag” of “Kagbeni” used to be “Ghag” meaning centre and hence, is a center of nearby villages of Jomsom to south and Muktinath to the east. after visiting this we will go to visit another famous place Muktinath which is highly reversed site of pilgrimage for Hindus and Buddhists.

Best Travel Time: February to Mid June, September – November is the best season. Dec & January is Winter, July & August is rainy time, trekking can be done but visibility can be poor due to rain.
Departure Dates: We are able to offer this trek on any dates during the months Feb, March, April, May, June, Sept, Oct, November and December for a group of 1 to 12 people.
Equipment rental: We advise you to bring all of your clothing and gear from home, however in Kathmandu there are many shops to buy and rent trek related equipment.
Your trek Backpack/duffle bag: Your baggage on the trek will be carried by our porters, the maximum weight per trekkers is 15 kg including your sleeping bag and down jacket, Other items not required on a trek can be stored in our office or your hotel in Kathmandu or Pokhara.

Very warm ‘Namaste’ (welcome in Nepali) for your great journey with us. We will meet at the Kathmandu, Tribhuvan International Airport and would drive to your hotel. As you get ease and freshen up after your long fight, we humbly request you to visit our office for a briefing about your program. You will have a meeting with your trekking guide and discuss the equipment needed for the trekking and we will process for the trekking permits. If you arrive at night we will have the same discussion in the next day morning after your breakfast.
After having your breakfast, we will drive you to the Domestic Airport to take a 25 minutes flight to Pokhara. During the short flight, you will have majestic views of glorious Manaslu Peaks and the snow capped Annapurna and Langtang Himalaya range. Or you can take a Tourist bus to Pokhara about 6-7 hour drive via scenic Prithivi Highway enjoying short stops for lunch and breakfast and scenic beauty all the way around. you will transfer to the hotel, after freshen up, you will be free and can look around the lakeside city by yourself, you can visit the Phewa lake where you can enjoy the spectacular views of Annapurna Himalaya Range reflected in all its glory in the calm green water of the lake and visit Bindavasini Temple which is only accessible by boat. Meals included: Breakfast.
Early in the morning after having our breakfast, we will take a 30 minutes flight from Pokhara to Jomsom, which will take us over the deepest George in the world “Kali Gandaki”. Peaks like Nilgiri, Tilicho, Annapurna and Dhaulagiri can be witnessed while on our way to trek. After reaching to Jomsom, we will explore the beautiful places, home of Thakali people and their famous Marpha apples and apple brandy. Stay there overnight.
Next morning, we will towards Kagbeni after freshen up and having our breakfast. Kagbeni is the last village and the entrance point of Lower Mustang which is situated at the top cliff. Along the trek, you will be visiting the Kings palace of 100 rooms, 800 year old brick red Sayka Gompa, Kali Gandaki and the Jhong Khola rivers, and so forth. also, on the way, you will view Dhaulagiri, Tukuche, and Nilgiri, and, to the south, the Annapurna Massif.
The very next day after being ready and having breakfast we will head towards Muktinath. Muktinath is one of the holy places of Hindu and Buddhist and a pilgrimage site. Each year more than 1000 people from India, Tibet, and Nepal come here for purification and salvation. It is not only famous for pilgrimage site but you can relax and enjoy the natural environment too.
The next day is Trek to Jomsom. We will trek towards Jomsom via Lupra Valley. Along the way, we will be witnessing the local Bonpo Monastery which is an ancient pre-Buddhist religion and a rare one.
We take our next flight back to Kathmandu via Pokhara and spent a day here. In the evening you can have your last night in Nepal enjoying the Nepali cultural dinner show, taking some beautiful snaps and making up your mind about the returning journey. You can have greetings exchanging with friends and with all Nepalese people.
