Brief Itinerary of Mount Everest Short Trek
You will be starting your trek form early morning flight from Luka airport and ending your journey at Kathmandu. It usually takes 15 – 20 days to trek Mount Everest. But it takes 9-11 days for a short trek. Here is day to day itinerary that you will be doing on this trip.
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu
You will have to reach to Kathmandu for this trek. You will be warmly welcomed by the team above the Himalaya. We will take you to your hotel where you can rest. You may also roam around the street of Kathmandu valley. At the time of dinner, you will have a short meeting about the trek. You will be told the thin that you need to bring for the trek. You will be served Nepali food in Nepali style at dinner.
Day 2: Sightseeing around Kathmandu valley
Kathmandu is the capital city of Nepal. Kathmandu is one of the rice of Nepal in aspects of historical and cultural places. There are lots of options to visit inside Kathmandu City. To name a few, you can visit Pashupatinath temple (the sacred Hindu temple of Lord Shiva), Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square, Swyambunath (the monkey temple) and many more famous places. Other than this, if you have extra days then you can go for a day hike to the nearest and beautiful city of Kathmandu valley such as Patan, Bhaktapur,Dhulikhel, Chandragiri, Nagarkot, etc.

Day 3: Flight to Luka and trek to Phakding
This day is counted as the main day where the real trek journey begins. You will be starting your trek form an amazing flight from Kathmandu to Luka airport. The feeling that you will have when you land on the steep runway of the mountain is mind-blowing. Luka is a beautiful village situated at an altitude of 2850 meters from the sea level. You will be starting to hike toward Dudh Koshi valley. You will be passing through amazing places like Chheplung (2,700m) and Ghat (2,590m) to Phakding (2,652m). You will also get a remarkable glimpse of the beautiful Mt. Khumbila (5,761m), Mt. Nupla (5,885m), and Mt. Kusum Kanguru (6,367m).
Day 4: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazar
After early morning breakfast at Phakding. You will be heading toward Namche bazar. It is situated at an altitude of 3,440 meters. It takes 5 – 6 hours to reach Namche bazar from Phakding. You have to follow the trail along the Dudh Koshi River. They get to observe the local lifestyle of the Sherpa people while going through the village Zapute, Toktok, Benkar and Chumoa. After the Chumoa you will reach mojo, which is also known as the gateway of “Sagarmatha national park”. Sagarmatha national park is also enlisted by UNSECO in the world’s heritage site. This national park is devoted to the delicate mountains around the Everest region. You will reach to Namche bazaar steeply walk after a long hike at the steep road. Here you will get the first glance of Mount Everest. Namche is a pretty busy village as it is the trading point. You will stay overnight at Namche bazaar.
Day 5: Acclimatization day at Namche bazaar
You will spend your day exploring the day at Namche Bazaar. Namche Bazaar is also known as “The Sherpa Capital” because it is the main position as the commercial center of the Sagarmatha region. Namche bazar is a lovely place with Thamserku (6,623m) to the east and Kongde RI (6,187m) to the west. You will be supervised to know that you will get all the modern facilities such as internet cafes, bakery, banks, ATMs, and outlets of medical supplies, warm clothing. You will take the walk of one hour walk up to the Everest View Hotel above Namche. You will get the panoramic view of the sunset of Ama Dablam, Nuptse, Lhotse, and Everest. You will also get the high snow peak mountain form the national park center and museum just above the ground. You will get back to Khumbu and stay at the hotel there.
Day 6:Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche
After a healthy breakfast at Namche bazar, you will continue your journey toward Tengboche. Where you can enjoy the panoramic view of excellent Mount Everest Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam and close up view of Thamserku. You will follow the trail having a glorious view of great Himalaya. You will be going through the trail that goes gradually down up to Kyangjuma. You will reach to Sanasa in no time. Sanasa is one of the major junction to Everest base camp. You will observe the house of this region is hand-carved in Buddhists style and Buddhist flag all around the way. You will reach Phunki Tenga crossing the bridge of Dudh Koshi. It is a little hard to trek there because of the steep road. Tengboche is marked as the vantage point to view the stunning mountains peaks such as Ama-Dablam, Nuptse, and Mt. Everest. Not only this, this place is regarded as the place that includes the biggest Buddhist Monastery.
There is a famous Gompa, in which it is believed that during the full moon in October/November they hold the colorful Mani Rimdu festival with masked dancing and Tibetan Opera in the courtyard.
Day 7: Trek from Tengboche to Labuche
You will be heading toward the village of Pangboche crossing Imja Khola. The village is situated directly opposite the Ama Dablam [6,856 m] and has a stunning view of the mountains with the gompa, many walls, and scattered pine trees. The trail through Duglha goes up to the rock of the glacier terminal moraine. And eventually, you will find a cluster house at Lobuche and you have to stay there.
Day 8: Trek to Everest base camp
Today will be the most exciting day of your trek as you will have to go to Everest base camp. After early morning breakfast, you will continue your journey. You will be climbing through fields and debris rocks steps to Gorakshep. You will climb to Kala Patthar from there you can watch the picturesque view of striking Mount Everest. You can take photos and collects lots of memories. You will stay overnight at the lodge back at Gorakshep.
Day 9: Back to Namche bazar
After seeing the scenic beauty of Mount Everest, it’s time to get back to Namche bazar. Mountains Mt. Pumori, Mt. Lingtren, Mt. Khumbetse, Mt. Nuptse, and Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Thamserku and many more huge peaks refresh your journey while returning. It’s quite easy to trek back compare to trekking forward so, you will reach Namche bazar in no time.
Day 10: Trek to Lukla
Today is your last day of the trek at this trek. You will have a long journey to complete today. You will have to reach Lukla. And remember there’s always the option to trek up to Jostle for some more mountain beauty and Trek back to Namche. It’s about 5 hours walk from Tengboche.
Day 11: Fly back to Kathmandu and final departure at your destination
You will be flying back to Kathmandu from Lukla airport. Enjoying the aural view of the amazing mountain and grassland is relaxing. You will reach Kathmandu in about an hour. You will see our vehicle sitting standby to drop you off to the international airport
