Boudhanath Stupa is the most famous and largest stupa in Nepal. It is one of the Buddhist pilgrimage sites listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Thousands of people gather daily in Boudhanath to make Kora and to pray.

It is the best site to visit with your family and pray together for prosperity and peace. You can also see the giant Mandala of the Buddhist cosmos. On the day of the Lhosar festival, known as the Tibetan New Year, Boudhanath holds a grand celebration.

2. Swyambhunath Temple

Swyambhunath Temple, or Monkey Temple, is the place of choice for most visitors. It represents the symbol of peace and prayers, making it the best place to visit with the family and make prayers. Similarly, you can view the sleeping Buddha and Dewa Dharma Monastery. You can see the massive gold-plated Vajra ‘thunderbolt’. In Swayambhunath Temple, you can see a temple dedicated to Harati (the goddess of all children).

Family Annapurna trek
Star Star Star Star Star

I was traveling with a family of 5 people: an 8- and 11-year-old child, my wife, and my mom, who is 58 years old. We did the small trek in Annapurna up to Ghandruk Village Loop. It was a wonderful experience, especially with the help of our guide and porters. Due to the rain and not very good weather, the trail was quite slippery.

Puru, the owner, provided us with the best guide and porters. They were very familiar with children and took care of every small thing. We traveled by bus between Kathmandu and Pokhara. Taking a flight or private vehicle when traveling with children is better.

Thank you, Above the Himalaya and team, for making our trip memorable.

Excellent family trip
Star Star Star Star Star

I traveled during the Christmas break with two kids, aged 12 and 14, and my wife. Fantastic experience, Annapurna Trek, Pokhara, Kathmandu excursions, Chitwan, Everest flights – the works! Puru organized daily trips, internal flights, guides, and accommodation.

Because of his extensive experience and local knowledge (he used to be a Guide), the places we visited were incredible and well-researched. Purna was our leading guide for the Annapurna trek. He was brilliant with the kids, and you felt very safe. He made the trip fun and was a straightforward company.

There are lots of trekking tours in Kathmandu. It can be overwhelming to make a choice. I recommend Above the Himalayas. They are very experienced and very trustworthy. They tuned into the local scene. They remain committed to the long-term sustainable development of the Nepal tourist industry.

Family Holiday
Star Star Star Star Star

Just came back after a week’s holiday in Nepal with my parents. We were worried about the weather and road conditions as this is the rainy season there. From the beginning, Puru, the company owner, gave us all the information about the tour and the excellent place to go.

We didn’t have any problem at all from arrival to departure. Most of the trip was rainy, but the best guide we had, the driver, and the hotel we chose made us feel happy. Due to rain, we only saw a little; we have covered Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Nagarkot and will return in March 2018.

Thank you, Above the Himalaya and team, for making our holiday stress-free and enjoyable.

Best family tour in Nepal
Star Star Star Star Star

We traveled in the low season for our Nepal family tour. Which I love because I prefer fewer crowds. The weather was quite good at times. All the hotels had a/c and wifi. The food was terrific in Nepal. My favorite food was momo! It would help if you tried it.

I saw the Annapurna range in beautiful Pokhara. A climb of the peace pagoda is a must. Perfect views. Puru is a lovely host. Very honest and generous. He took us to a beautiful traditional restaurant so we could taste local food. It was the cherry on the cake of our experience!

A trip I will never forget!
