You can get a Nepal visa prior to arrival from the Nepalese Embassy in your home country. Likewise, you can easily get an upon arrival visa at Kathmandu airport and other different borders from Nepal.

We find that most travelers find themselves in difficulty as sometimes; they don’t carry money to get a visa at the time of their arrival. There is no ATM inside the visa section. Though there is a provision of ATM outside, it is more likely that sometimes it doesn’t work. So, for your comfort, we recommend you bring the cash US$ to get them on arrival visa.

The receipts of such transactions are to be obtained and retained. Visitors can exchange foreign currency at the foreign exchange counter at the airport upon arrival too, Although their rates are quite low so better you can exchange in the city.

You can also get money from ATM machines there are many in the city and it allows you a maximum of 40,000 per day. Visitors other than the Indian nationals have to make the payment in foreign currency (non-Indian currency) in the hotel. It also applies to book your trekking and tour. Note: Most of the Banks and Money changers in Nepal, will not accept foreign currency notes that are old, torn, or faded. Please ensure that you have new, clean notes

Drinking water during your Trek:

We suggest you at least drink 3/4 liters of water per day while you are on the Everest trek 3 days trail. While bottled mineral water can be purchased all over Kathmandu and along popular trekking trails, plastic water bottles are a significant problem in Nepal’s mountain areas. So instead of relying on bottled water, travelers should instead purify their water.

You can take water purification tablets and iodine liquid to purify the water. They are small, cheap, and light to carry, another better way is to get water filters they are low to carry and easy to use. You can bring two reusable water bottles. So that you always have one bottle to drink from, while the water in your other bottle is being purified.

Showers and electricity – Most of the tea houses in the EBC Trek for 4 days have a solar hot shower and have cold showers available. Few of them have gas Guizar or electricity hot shower. Few places every charge the cost for hot showers for the extra cost of around USD 3 to 4.
