Challenges during the Nepal monsoon tour

The biggest challenge for Nepal Monsoon tour is  during the monsoon season is certainly the rain itself. But it doesn’t challenge you all day long most of the time. When the monsoon starts, one of the main traveling seasons (the spring) just comes to an end. Thus, the movement of tourists in the country declines. But there are still some travelers enjoying the wonders that Nepal has to offer during this period

Clothing for the Nepal Monsoon Tour:

For Nepal monsoon tour Umbrella or raincoat is the most.

In Nepal you will experience a wide range of climates, so take both light and warm clothing in casual and comfortable styles. You can check your traveling time and can bring the clothing accordingly for the Nepal monsoon tour. Mostly warm clothes do work. If you are going for trekking you need trekking equipment and accessories.

For lower altitude places such as visiting Chitwan, Bardia, and Koshi Tappu light cotton clothing is the best one.

Comfortable walking shoes are recommendable for the  Nepal monsoon tour  and if you are doing hiking as in the itinerary, trekking shoes are recommended. A pair of light sandals is recommended. Our advice is to make sure you ‘wear’ your walking boots/shoes for several weeks before your trip – you’ll be so much more comfortable if you do so. Sandals with rugged bottoms are good for hiking around town and wearing in showers.

You will need your toiletries and towels. And you’ll also need your little medical kit, sewing repair kit, and a good headlamp with extra bulbs and batteries. Nepal is facing a load-shedding problem so everyday electricity cut-off occurs. It is long hours in the summertime, and most of our chosen hotels have Generator back up but at night it may not run so bring the headlamps for convenience.

You can store the luggage in the hotels  for your Nepal monsoon tour, so you can also bring better clothing for looking good while around the city like Kathmandu and Pokhara.

Sunglasses are a must. A warm hat, gloves for winter for hiking, swimming customs for rafting and Elephant bathing at Chitwan, good socks and a sun hat are very useful for a Jungle safari tour and for warm sightseeing days in town too.

Clothing Suggestions for Women Travelers for Nepal monsoon tour

Wearing a bikini/revealing bathing suit when rafting/swimming is an offensive mistake unless it is in your hotel swimming pool. At swimming pools, women wear bathing suits with skirts around the bottoms. And for rafting and kayaking, we recommend you were surfing type shorts and sports shirts that dry easily. If you want to wear your bathing suit underneath it is fine.

Here are some things you might want to bring from home depending on your planned activities:

  • Walking/hiking, trekking, river shoes – broken in.
  • Clothes you can layer. Jacket, T-shirts, fleece, windbreaker, shorts, lightweight pants, sports pants, gloves & sun hat (for summer and autumn season, not a lot of clothes).
  • A nice shirt/pants for nightlife
  • Good camera – this country is a feast for the eyes and a photographer’s dream!
  • Pocket-size Flashlight (you can buy it here if need be, but there are always power cuts, so have it handy! (It seems like the lights go off whenever you are in an unfamiliar toilet.)
  • A sarong (for girls) and/or a lightweight towel.
  • Ladies, if you like wearing a little make-up when you go out, bring it. It is hard to find here. Most of the makeup here is weird, cheap stuff. Just bring a couple of things that make you feel happy for the party nights!

Shopping  in your Nepal monsoon tour

If you want to buy some new clothes in Kathmandu, you can go for out of Thamel. You can get Western-style clothes in Durbar Marg, Asan, Kathmandu Mall, and various other new rising shopping centers. You can get designer label clothes for literally a few dollars, custom-made jeans, the price is much cheaper here but the quality compromises that never meets the Western Standards.

Meals during the Nepal Monsoon tour

Breakfast is available in the hotels 2 to 5-star hotels offer a buffet breakfast with a choice of foods, for lunch our guide will take you to a good restaurant with choices of food from Nepali to western menu, you can tell them what sort of food you like and can choose the restaurant accordingly. For Dinner in the city, you can go out there is plenty of nice restaurants out of Kathmandu and Pokhara you can eat at the hotels.

Best tour in Monsoon time, Really enjoyed
Star Star Star Star Star

We had a 1-week tour in Nepal during the month of August which is a Monsoon here. We really enjoy the tour, most of the daytime was sunny and rain some hours and mostly the rain was at night. We visited the World Heritage sites, Gorkha durbar, and the nature city of Pokhara. Pokhara is great to travel. We had the best car and driver throughout the tour and the city guide in Kathmandu is very knowledgeable. We highly recommend this tour if you are n Nepal for monsoon time.
