Day 08: Pemayantse to Yuksom

Today, after breakfast, we will drive to Yuksom and, on the way, visit Khecheopari Lake. This lake is a sacred Buddhist mountain lake, and it is believed that your wish will come true if you make one in front of it.

There is a myth that a bird immediately picks it up when a leaf falls on the placid clear water surface. A further drive takes you to Yuksom – the meeting place of three monks and the first capital of Sikkim. This was the place where the first Chogyal (a ruling dynasty in Sikkim ) was crowned.
